Grizz1219
Going to put in some throw and grow in a few weeks (8/27 & 28), heading out Sunday (8/14) to rake out some areas and I'm going to throw about 25 lb's of pulverized lime down in the area and hopefully get it rained in over the next two weeks.... Using pulverized to get it into the soil faster over pelletized. Also has anyone ever limed a grass field around their stands to sweeten the grass to make it more desirable for deer??? Wondering if it will work... putting in two throw & grow spots and figured while I was out I would do this to the grass around two stands I have on field edges.... Your thoughts on the above??? SplitG2
save your money. go to a local feed and seed pick up a bag of whole oats and rape seed. will be much cheaper and deer will actually eat it.

growalot
Grizz ,remember that type of seed usually contains perennial rye grass...now deer will eat rye grass but not a preferred. the thing I do not like about it is it is a persistent grass species.. I will re-seed...and grow thick choking out clovers...so decide quickly in the spring what you want from that area before it seeds out on you.
