pwhitman86
Hey Everyone, I have a little one at home and it is getting tougher and tougher for me to get out and Bowhunt in the early morning and late afternoons. So I'm shifting more towards small game hunting this season, specifically grouse and rabbit. I live in Rochester and was wondering if anyone had any tips on some decent state land within an hour or twos drive. Or any small game hunting tips in general. I don't have a dog so that makes things a little trickier as well. Thanks!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gencountyzeek
If u find a magic grouse spot let me know, haven't seen any good numbers of them in years. I saw 2 in Rushford last year and I wouldn't shoot them because they are the first 2 I saw on our property down there in probably 5 years. pwhitman86
Yea I was down on the east side of canadice and put one up opening day but with the leaves still on the trees I never saw it. Did some pheasant hunting yesterday and some of the guys I talked to said numbers are down lately. Paula
There is state land Wyoming county and Livingston county. You don't need a dog for rabbit, just kick the brush.
thatguy
I'm beating myself up for saying anything but just got to braddock bay, I've seen pheasant walking around while bow hunting and I've seen 1 or 2 crossing the parkway. Haven't seen any grouse but that doesn't mean they're not around. There's all sorts of small delicious critters running around out there.
