He's someone I talk to once or twice a year maybe. Not someone I really felt comfortable with confronting with such an accusation but not a complete stranger either. My biggest WHAT IF was what if I told him about it then he did it again. If I turned him in after that he would know it was me. 

He's not that close of a friend so you did what you feel was right. I think we should all respect that you did what was right for you... I'm not sure I would have done the same but don't blame you and respect your choice... understand you are a man and you don't need any of the schmucks here including myself to validate your own opinions

Like bisceglia said, everyone bends the rules a little here and there but blatant violations is another story.  I would never rat out a friend.  If you're a true friend you'll try your best to change their ways.  I wouldn't hunt with them though.  Acquaintances and anyone else lower in the friendship totem pole gets ratted out.  Snitches get stitches attitude is why communities go into the dumpster.

You did what you felt you had to! Nobody can argue with That! You're the one that has to look in the mirror at yourself no one else. If you don't feel good about it now you know for next time.
