Long Island deer scouting

Took these pics last week. The deer are rutting on Long Island..

They have some great bucks out there! I'm really thinking about trying it out there next year, just not sure where to start. Was this in public or private?

Why are you taking pictures and not launching an arrow?

Are these deer huntable?

I've come across that brick structure in the top pic-just don't remeber where.

That's a nice looking buck.  The public land on Long Island hasn't produced much opportunity for me this year, where about is that picture taken? I'm trying to help my dad bag his first deer this year with a bow this year and it's been slow going.

I hear that Shelter Island has some massive bucks. A colleague I work with has a house out there and is always talking about how big the deer population is out there. I hear that most guys hunt on private properties for the most part.

I googled a few things, with that said please make the appropriate calls to Shelter Island PD and NYS DEC.

Google NYS DEC SLIM, SLIM is a mapping program that has all the DEC areas, DEC controls the SI tidal wetlands area, see web link, http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7844.html
