I have hunted both...pretty rugged country and not to easy to hunt. Areas that are not to bad to hunt are loaded with hunters. There are deer there but you have to work for them. I have shot a couple of nice bucks there over the years and saw a real nice one taken on Canadice Sat. morning. Haven't hunted Hemlock to much because it is rougher than Canadice but there have been some REAL nice bucks taken from the Hemlock area.

Don't know about Hemlock because I haven't been there yet this year but if you hunt Canadice beware of ticks.

It's rugged land for sure! I hike it frequently and hunt it occasionally. My best advice for Hemlock is go to the south end and hike in to the west hill. This involves crossing a stream that has steep banks but you'll find yourself in great country. As for Canadice, I've ridden my bike down the path (access road, really, for DEC) to get further in but that's tough with the snow on the ground now. On Canadice it's almost all west side for the public land. Steep hills no matter what. Good luck!
