Got a deal...

Recommended Posts

I stopped into my local Tractor Supply and found the following on sale for...$8.99 a bag...picked up two..So I got 80# for $18.00...last years seed but I'm thinking for a quick green up on a couple of failed woodland plots I will have this in the spring...I can put it down very yearly and if the turkey do what they've done in the past...I'm not out a whole lot. Maybe the new logging trail plot?   Depends on whether TFS gets their bagged lime out early...that will need a lot of lime...I left 2 bags for someone else...no need to be greedy.

They got you! I was at tractor supply yesterday getting a new battery for the tractor and they had them for 5.99$ they only had 7 so I got them all. Even if I only get 80% yield it's a good deal.

What's in it?

Edit- must have missed it:

PlotSpike Forage Feast food plot seed is a combination of small grains, legumes, forage brassicas and clovers.

  • Mix germinates quickly and performs in a wide range of soil conditions
  • PlotSpike Forage Feast is proven to attract deer and will yield an abundant, nutritious food supply

Buckmaster...They didn't "get me"...for your tractor supply isn't mine...if it were, I wouldn't have found any seed. Even if I traveled to another Tractor supply and got your deal.....the gas driving there would have eaten it up...So yes I got a deal and no one got me. To that if a person looked at Amazon ,they want 45.50  a bag...So anyway I look at it,I got a deal..

Listed at $29.99 a bag on TS website.  Sounds like a deal to me.  Seed should be fine, depending on how it was stored.  Either way, it's a lot of seed for the money.  I may have to wander by the store later.

Same! I have 2 on my way home from work I can hit. It's worth a shot for this season. We will see what comes of it.

start checking out the local ag stores selling things like wht tail institute.....if not on sale...look at the date on bags and go to managers and say hey, this seed is last years which makes it 2 years old what price will you give me? Doesn't hurt to try..also do not forget to go to the Walmart clearance isles...I strolled down it one year and found a bag of I think buck oats for a stupid low  price.....Would never have thought to look there for last years seed.
