EspressoBuzz
https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/local/weather/deadly-tornadoes-rip-through-midwest/2017/03/01/6a951672-fe81-11e6-9b78-824ccab94435_video.html So I have tickets to visit Italy for 4 weeks this June, gonna see mom, dad and my sis. Unfortunately the trip I had planned for Sicily might not happen. My wife keeps muttering "I ain't gonna get thrown into no volcano" I keep telling her she is using a double negative but seems unconvinced.... Otto
My Etna is almost always throwing lava. I wouldn't cancel a trip to Sicily, ever! My father grew up within a few miles of the crater, and I've visited several times. Unless your destination is very close to the crater, I wouldn't worry. And if it is, won't your parents and family need your help?
EspressoBuzz
I was kidding of course, My family is on Ischia an island in the Bay of Naples we have 3 volcanos of our own there. Usually when visiting we will take a week in the middle and travel to another part of Italy for the experience. This year we considered Sicily but opted for the Italian Alps, Tuscany and a return to Rome. We swore we are going to take the night train to Palermo next year. The running gag is I Love Volcanos and my wife always accuses me of wanting to throw her into one. 29 years married, a dozen of so active volcanoes visited together and I still don't know what she could mean!
