Anyone an electrician, or play one one TV?

Two breakers in my house keep tripping and I can't figure out why. I'm worried that with all this rain some water is getting to an outlet somewhere? It was happening every couple minutes, then didn't happen for four hours, and now it's happening again. I can't think of anything causing it as far as devices there's nothing new plugged in

If it matters the two breakers are on opposite sides of the panel

Not an electrician but I have been zapped a bunch of times pretending to be one. My suggestion is leave them off and call an electrician. If it's water or not there is obviously an issue and electric issues in your house is not something to play with.

TC I can help I'm an electrician, ok so are those breakers tied to an exterior outlet? That would be first all the rain. Are the breakers GFI outlets

With rain like this a bubble cover on the outside of home will leak.

Ok the outlet on the front of the house is on that breaker. Right now that one is off and the other one that trips is on. Is that common for two to trip together?

Yes I can happen. What else in the house is off? Has this happened before? If so do you remember if it was wet out?

It's never happened and we had some hellacious weather in the ten years we have been in the house

I'll bet that you probably are getting moisture in those exterior outlets

That outlet in front has been buried in snow and this hasn't happened. So far with that breaker off the other hasnt tripped

Did you happen to check if they are fail safe or gfi breakers? Also are the 2 breakers at the top of the panel and are the exact opposite sides from each other

Being buried in snow is not the same as a soaking rain.

So maybe we narrowed it down to something on that breaker, most likely that outlet outside in the rain? I appreciate your guidance I've been tearing my hair out. I moved my office upstairs today so naturally I assumed it was something there but I've since unplugged everything there

Another thing could be is the main that comes through the house caulked good . Water could be finding away into the panel in which I would not recommend you doing anything with this tonight

Did you happen to check if they are fail safe or gfi breakers? Also are the 2 breakers at the top of the panel and are the exact opposite sides from each other

How can I tell if they are GFI? They aren't quite opposite one is at the bottom. . So it's front room on the left which is now off and. Basement Lights at the bottom right which has now been on for a while. You can see "sump pump" is crossed off, that's now on its own breaker
