5J Wilton Hunting?

Hey all,

I have been bowhunting public land south of Albany in 4B/4H, but have been looking for land closer to where I live in Clifton Park.

So, I found via DEC's mapper a few spots near Wilton, including the Saratoga Sand Plains WMA which also goes by Wilton Wildlife Preserve Park. Does anyone know if this spot is worth the effort? I know it is N.Tier. and the season started today. I am mainly looking for a good bow spot.

I shot a little buck a few years back muzzleloading that area. There is deer to be had with a little scouting.

I don’t think all of the sandy plains is open to hunting. Check into that.

Thanks guys! Only the old gick and fox parcels allow hunting I found. Did some snooping and looks decent.
