Iluvracks1359
So i have never tried making a mock scrape b4, and i qanna give it a try this year. What are some tips on how and where to set one up, and what do you all use??? Also, is it too soon to take the grunt call in the woods with me? G-Man
ive hunted over natural scrapes to no success, they seem to be visisted at night, i personally dont see a reason to make a fake one to try and create success. jmo
LET EM GROW
I made a couple on the edges of transitions, as they funnel into the food plots this year, and one on the beginning of a food plot entrance... I used it more of an eye sore to pick their curiosity .. a random tree with a cluster of branches hangin off one side... Theyll either run, or come check it out IMO.. I also used a piece of hemp rope and dangeled it out into a trail. Almost every doe that walks by it checks it out.. Its my first year doing Mock scrapes... So we will see.
cdbing
I hunt public land where there is not that good a chance of hunting the same spot due to hunter competition. 2 yrs ago i tried mock scrapes near what appeared to be natural scrapes. One time it got some attention from a young buck that i ended up taking....Not at the scrape but closeby at a scent wick. Probably just lucky that day. 80% of the time my attempts at scents and lures do not work or even put does off a bit.
