ADK Native
https://nyassembly.gov/leg/?default_fld=&leg_video=&bn=S03771&term=2019&Summary=Y&Actions=Y&Memo=Y&Text=Y This bill would have all firearm background checks to be processed by the NYS State Police background check unit (a new unit) via telephone or web based who will do the actual NICS background check in addition to the buyer filling out an ATF 4473. The purchasing of ammunition could also be done through this proposed new system (and a fee charge for that also). The amount of the fee is not stated. The bill states that the fee "shall not exceed the total amount of direct and indirect costs incurred by the bureau in performing the background check." This fee would be collected electronically at the time of this new background check procedure or invoiced by mail. This new background fee would be put into a "background check fund". · Who are the New York State politicians that do not trust the Federal government to perform firearm purchase background checks? · What questions will the NYS Police ask that the Federal government does NOT ask on the ATF Form 4473? · Is the “fee” charged another tax to help fund welfare, free college tuition, sanctuary cities and other social programs? · Is the “fee” charged aimed at financially hurting those with low income? · So if you purchase under 10 rounds will they exempt the fee because “YOU DON’T NEED TEN BULLETS TO KILL A DEER!!!”? · How is this law going to control gun violence? Rattler
All of these proposals have only one thing in mind. Putting as many obstacles as possible, in the way of any desire to own and use firearms for any reason.
