Taconic pkwy closed just past i84

On way to LI. Taconic pkwy closed both ways in Dutchwss county at I84. Trees still down.

I know. Taconic closed. Rerouted to I84 then to 684 into the Hutchinson. Hutch closed SB at Mill rd in New Rochelle. Rerouted to I95 Finally on Northern State now. A 2 hr drive turned into 3.5. Really sucks . At least I wasn't driving.

It's more like 2 hrs 20 mins door to door. I go rte 199 to Taconic sb.

Cant get on the Taconic. Driving a f 350 pick up. Take abunch of back roads over to 22 .

Watch your speed if you see a trooper with someone stopped. They have been running a operation were they get a speeder and then anyone that blows by the stopped cars.....favorite spot is Taconic southbound between 199 and Bullshead overpass......(they also like that stretch No. bound too for speeders)

The town of Milan likes the court fees too....I'm local to there.

Thanks for the tip Dinsdale. I usually see troopers sitting at mile marker 48.5 (exit for James Baird state park) and just past Bulls Head rd going N/B.

If I have the wifes car ,I get off at 199 or Jackson Corners. When I run the parkway I make sure the radar detector is on

I've found that if you keep it between 65-70 and there is traffic, they won't bother you. If you are the only car and you are pushing 70 they will stop you. BTW they also sit under the I84 overpass or just south of there.

One guy got me doing 80 right before salt point going south. It was after I spent all morning in the woods, didn't see a thing and was getting slaughtered by my wife for being late. Trooper looked at me, looked at my bow in the back seat.....and I told him don't even ask...didn't see a f'in thing. he started laughing and asked me if my wife was pissed....we both laughed and he let me go! He was a hunter!

Nice way to get out of a ticket. You were lucky. That would have been a huge fine - reckless driving - 25 over the limit.
