Looking to buy a 25.06

Looking to buy a 25.06, preferably bolt action. What ya got?

I have a NEF 25-06 single shot and like it . The 25.05 is a flat shooting cartridge but rather pricy . I am going to have to do reloads because of that . You might want to consider a 270 bolt action . Two of my sons have the Browning 270 cal and love them . The ammo price is the only thing I don't like about the 25-06 .

Just my 2 cents. The 25.06 is an excellent very flat shooting choice. However, it was initially developed as a "wildcat" cartridge. Whereby, if you can reload your own, or find someone to reload for you, you will get a better performing cartridge.

Whatcha gonna use it for? Deer, coyotes, other stuff? 250-3000, 257 Roberts may also suit

I use Win Mod 70. chambered in 270 weatherby mag for whitetail. I thought I'd look into a rifle for coyotes and woodchucks but could also be used for long range, late season deer hunts as well. Thought the 25.06 would be a good choice.

That's an excellent choice. I figured you were thinking of the other guys. Based on a 30-06 case, the recoil is fairly good, better than the 06 itself. The short cased 250's get similar ballistics without the wallop. That's about the only difference

Are u saying that the 25-06 has more recoil than the 30-06? That would be way off and physically impossible

No, less than an 06, more than the 250-3000 and 257 Roberts or a 243 for that matter
