nybuckboy
I got a FoxPro E-Call. I was wondering what you experienced yote hunters recommend I start calling with and progress to. How long should I wait if no response. I plan to be out at day break and get set up. Any advice is appreciated. I have male and female yotes calls as well as eastern cottontail, lightning Jack, lucky bird, hairy woodpecker, rodent distress, jackrabbit and cottontail distress amd more. coyoteman
There is a website called bark at the moon coyote club. They are in Rochester and there is a lot of info on their site. I think that you would find some helpful info there. I hope this helps.
jr.deerslayer
Typically i will start with a distress call and keep it playing for 15- 30 minutes, this way you have an equal chance at calling a coyote, fox or bobcat. Then switch over to a locator or female coyote call. For another 15min or the time I feel necessary. Keeping this order will allow other predators that would ordinarily be wary to enter with a coyote call, time to come to the call with the distress call playing. I also would view bark at the moon. JMP
I have had luck with the lucky bird myself. I'm heading out in about 20 mins. myself. Good luck!!!
WNYBuckHunter
We have gotten the best response from fox with the lucky bird on my buddy's fox pro. The coyotes I called in last year all came to cottontail and jackrabbit distress calls.
