Been an interesting yr so far. Have found 3 sheds so far this yr. Luckily though I havent had any excitement like these guys did last yr shed hunting. Any find a body before while they were in the woods?

Here are my finds so far. Hopefully more to come. With the warm weather here now I plan to get out alot this week if the ticks dont drain me first.

Well I can tell you that after 8 hrs of walking back and fourth across the fields today, there are officially no sheds in the fields in my hunting area. :D My legs are beat!! Going to start hitting the trails to the fields this week and trying to find bedding areas. Though I think that isnt going to help either because of the lack of snow this yr. The deer tracks are every where with no real defined trails to follow.

Now there's something you don't see every day!

Safe to say now you know you have some competition for antlers in your area.

I hear they're just as bad, if not worse then squills! No porkies around here, but have seen sign of them in another area I hike.

Around the Binghamton area they have exploded over the last ten yrs. I run into them regularly in the woods. I poked one that was sleeping on the ground last yr with my bow and he wasnt a happy camper. :D Only place ive seen them thicker is around Deposit. Its like driving an obstacle course, weaving around all the dead porkys along Cannonsville res.

Well Friday morning after work I went out for about 4 hrs and searched for sheds. About 2 hrs into it I found this set laying next to eachother, whicj is pretty nice of him to drop both of them in the same spot. :) I actually passed this buck up 2nd day of gun season about 50 yrds from where I picked them up at.

Nice set erussell! Pretty cool to get them from a buck you passed up. I don't have much luck matching up sheds from deer I've seen durring season or got cam pics of. Most don't seem to stick around long enough to leave their antlers behind.

Thanks, I was actually pretty suprised to find it where I did. I had walked by it twice already on other trips but had decided to really pick this area apart this day. I knew there was a shed in there somewhere. :D I just cant stop even though it is getting greener and harder to see in the woods.

Just wanted to pass this shed below on that was found in NY in the past couple of days. I found it on another site and found it worthy of mention. I will not mention the area or name of the person, if he is on this site and wants to mention any of the above then that is his choice. I wont. Scored around 78 inch. I repeat this is not one of my sheds but someone elses That I found on another site that was found somewhere in NY and worthy of mention. Got it, not mine.

Well Fri. I had a few hours to kill in the morning so what better way to kill time than to shed hunt so off I went. I started out where I left of the last time on my grid search of the side of the mountain and within 30 min I had three sheds 2 oldies and a newbie, including the biggest toothpick I have ever found. All were found in a straight line from eachother 40 yrds apart. The biggest ones main beam is 22 in from base to end of point G-2 is 9in and the G-3 is 8. Brow was broken off during velvet but still long enough to count as a point. upon looking closer at the sheds I relized I had possibly 3 yrs of sheds from the same buck. The two from the same side had the same flatness to the base right up to above the browtine. I have to find the other side to the monster shed to see if the 2nd shed matches also as it is the oposite side to the big shed. I was looking at the middlesize shed and I swear it was the same deer I shot low 2 years ago. Had the same mass with long but skinny tines. I searched for 2 more hours and then had to leave so I will be back where I left off some time this week and hopefully find the other side.

Yup, that works! That freshies a dandy, nice finds and good luck matching him up.

Found it right in the v of where two logging roads come together. I just happend to walk over and look down onto the bottom logging road and looked down at my feet and there it was laying ontop of the leaves in all its glory. I was just like, holly crap. I almost kept going straight but veared off to look over the bank. They are alot harder to find then most people think, even the big ones. I walked past this one on that same trail below it. I was about 10 ft from it, but you couldnt see it from below you had to be on the upper trail looking down. Makes you wonder how may dandy toothpicks I have walked right past. Here's three that I walked past several times looking in other spots around this one. And If I dont match it up I wont be to heart broken because if these are three of his sheds, I have just found a huge pc of the big buck puzzle. Where he feels safe. Now all I need is alittle luck and play the wind on 1st day of gun and next time you see his antlers will be on my wall attached to his head. Or atleast one of his kids. :D

Erussell. Some very productive shedding on your part. By the way, did your mysterious friend who shall remain nameless (and faceless) score that othe side? With a 20 inch spread or so, you got a bonified Booner running around. That'll get you fired up for the season..
