The article states “Gun owners in San Jose, California, will soon face a yearly tax and be required to carry additional insurance after their city council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to impose the new measures.”

 “Unanimously”!  Of course, look at the political affiliation of the mayer and city council:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Jose_City_Council

Licardo is a Democrat and ten of the eleven council members are Democrat with one listed as “non-partisan”. 

 

The article states “San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo suggested the new annual fine will likely be "a couple dozen dollars," and claimed insurers assured the city that firearms owners adding gun liability coverage to existing policies would cost the affected citizens little or nothing.”

Sounds like Mayor Liccardo is in the insurance business. 

 

The article states "Crooks aren’t going to follow this law," Liccardo told reporters. "When those crooks are confronted by police and a gun is identified, and if they haven’t paid the fee or insurance, it’s a lawful basis for seizure of that gun."

So Licardo, please define who is a “crook”.  Sounds like Licardo believes a law abiding citizen who owns a firearm that ignored complying with this stupid worthless piece of legislation meant only to harass, extort and deny law abiding citizens their rights under the Second Amendment is a “crook”.  Licardo see this stupid law as the basis for the police to begin firearm confiscation.  Licardos own words are "When those crooks are confronted by police and a gun is identified, and if they haven’t paid the fee or insurance, it’s a lawful basis for seizure of that gun."

 So Licardo you want law abiding citizens who legally own firearm and did not harm anyone to pay for violent criminals?  Licardo needs to think deeper…who ACTUALLY committed the crime?

 

In conclusion, the gun control addicts will do anything and everything to disarm Americans.  Nothing changes, just their tactics.

It is a blatant violation of 2nd A rights to force people to pay a fee to exercise them.  It is also governmental abuse to deny a right to someone who cannot afford to pay a tax to exercise that right.

Just more proof Democrats have no respect for the Constitution, individual rights, self defense, the Rule of Law or freedom in general.  The fact the nation's Democrat party doesn't chastise it's minions when they do things like this, proves the entire party feels the same way.

When it comes to gun control the Democrat's backdoor roadmap to get around second amendment fights is as plain as the nose on your face.

Taxes, fees, permits, traditional lead based ammo bans etc. All this hoop jumping is put into place to make owning a firearm so cumbersome it eliminates many even bothering, IE the NY State pistol permit system. Does not effect the criminal element one bit, the honest folks that want a firearm to hunt, shoot or protect themselves are the ones that take it up the butt!
