Crossbows are legal??

I was wondering if anyone can confirm for me what I have just heard. I was told that it was in a loacl paper in Putnam that Crossbows are now legal in NY but only during gun season??

I apologize if I missed this in another post, I am still trying to catch up on all of them...

hey Paulie, finally got back from your year long trip to the Ukrain ;D  yea as of 2011 they are legal during rifle season and late bow/muzzle loader season. and if the DEC decides they can add a crossbow season after all other seasons. this is just the beginning full inclusion is in the near future for NY hunters....
