Hi Everyone,

I have lived in the Syracuse area most of my life and have hunted around the area for quite some time.  I took a break for the last couple of years, but I am ready to get back into hunting this year.  Since it's been awhile, just wondering if there are any good resources for locating good public land to hunt on?  Is the DEC site still the best resource?

Welcome, I am just outside the Cuse myself. There are lots of public grounds but the closer you are to the city and burbs the more they get hunted. Look min 30-45-60 minutes south, north and west there are lots of big chunks. If your a gun hunter after the first week you can find plenty of space. In any season if you can hunt during the week you also get less pressure.

Welcome in. X2 on what Fletch said.  Good sized tracks of state land around the area 30-45 min in most directions.
