Pheasant in region 3

Does anyone know if there are any pheasant left in Putnam county on public land? I am training my dog and want him to have some success to motivate him. I was also considering going to sterling state forest or trying a few NJ wma if the 3n spots are not productive. I should have some pheasant hunting updates later this week.

Most places are “put and take” early season so not sure how many are still kicking around. I used

Thank you I was thinking about trying there or cranberry. Figured it would be tough now. I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes.

Stewart is your best bet.

Cranberry is very tough. Guy who lives across the street hunts every day with his english pointer and knows when birds are stocked. He also brings friends and someone told me people pay him to take them out. I would hit stewart

Thanks sounds like Stewart is a good bet. I’ll avoid cranberry wish he would save some birds for the rest of us.
