Question about I40XT gamespy camera by Moultrie

Guys,

This camera comes with a usb port. The manual says connect to you computer and download you picts/video. Can I take a flash drive out in the field and plug it into the camera and download that way?

The USB port is for when you use the internal memory. IMO, the best way to use them is to have 2 flash cards for each cam, and just swap the cards in the field. You can them read them at home with an SD card reader on your PC or laptop.

I tried that last night,(plugging it in to my PC).The camera readout window showed NO SD CARD INSTALLED.PLEASE INSERT SD CARD. Something to that effect.That tells me that you have to have a card to use this? Don't sound right,but it is.

In the owners manual,it states that an SD card MUST be installed for the camera to operate. Page 2 owners manual.

Some of them had (have) internal memory, sounds like yours doesnt.

Mine doesn't, you need the sd card for it to work.
