Bed deer

I have noticed the past two weeks deer are laying around in the open field behind my house. I have found beds in other places in the woods, along a field shielded by the wind but never an open field is this normal.

Yesterday morning and this morning was beautiful out no breeze not that cold at all, is this why?

If deer are not pressured its very natural for them to lay up in an open field. Shot a buck with a crossbow 2 seasons ago, had to wait over an hour for him to wake up, he was laying in one of my plots.
