  3. Let the dog out and decided to do one more Mus patrol. This Mus made the mistake of lounging on the fence. SJC
  4. This Mus didn't get the memo that Mus death is in town tonight. The Fusion II seems to prefer the 8.2 grn RWS pellets. SJC
  5. This Mus gave me the slip many times, but it's slipping days are over. What a beautiful night for using thermal. SJC
  6. Way To Go Big Guy ! Nice Birds !
  7. I’m beyond excited, I had a back to back in 2 days with 2 awesome hunts. Thursday I called in 10 birds at once, 9 left. Today I called in a lone hot mature bird all by himself Yesterday was 4.5 beard and 1/8 “ spurs Today 8” beard and 3/4 “ spurs. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy my hunting and harvest 2 nice toms, and have a great time in the woods
  8. Yesterday
  9. Hunted 5:30 to 7:30 heard a gobble at 5:45 then again around 6:30. Way off in the distance, that was it. Great sunrise!
  10. Day 3...this is strange here. Not a single gobble or turkey seen so far this season. Still nice to be out here though. Good luck to all out there
  11. Headed out in a few. No wind and clear should be a good morning! I have three hours to hunt before work. Hope to get it done!
  12. I’m shooting 20 gage 3” mag turkey load full choke
  13. Last week
  14. I threw away the box it came in and there are no markings on the target itself, I am pretty sure it was purchased at a Runnings store, they stock and sell a lot of steel targets. Al
  15. Turkey choke is the way to go. I pattern at 40 yards, using 1 inch grid paper. Needs to be a minimum of 2 pellets in each square for me to be happy. Usually a lot more, using my 3 and 1/2 inch number 7 Hevi-shot.
  16. At least you guys are out there. I'm not able to get back into the woods until Monday- if the weather holds.
  17. Wont hurt to try a turkey choke to see how much better it would be at that range or if you have a 35-40 yard shot
  18. Looks like the catering supplies for Willie Nelson's 91st birthday celebration.
  19. Ok so I set a target up at 27 yards the number 4 s 2-3/4 only had like 2 pellets in the head The number 5s 3” mag pic below Should I try a turkey choke or ? thx
  20. Not to go off topic but can you kill a Turkey at 40 yards not hitting him in the neck or head?
  21. I had a Tom walk up the clover field gobbling around 6 PM last night. Crossed the road and my corn field. Let out the dogs at 6:30 and he blowing up in my field. I'll hunt tomorrow. Good luck guys!
  22. At it again. The birds were nonexistent in my area yesterday and no gobbles so far again this morning. Off work until May 7 and still so nice to be out here watching the woods wake up.
  23. The gun should tell you whether you need a turkey choke by patterning it. If you can get an even pattern and a minimum of 100 pellets in a 10” circle at 40-yds, you’re good to go. 100 pellets seems to be the sport’s standard and I use it. In addition, I would not assume one brand of shot is better than another without patterning. Some guns could be finicky with the load size and amount going down the barrel. Bottom line: Pattern your gun. Good luck to you [emoji256]
