To each his own I guess. I for one don't miss the non stop name calling, trolling, and general nastiness the so called "controversial" ex-members displayed against  anyone they determined to be outside their clique.

Talk about spinning the narrative. Let's remember what really happened here. For the past several years, throughout Trump and Covid, the Trump haters and self proclaimed medical experts spewed their utter nonsense and attacked anyone who did not bow to their expertise and infinite knowledge.

So how did that all work out for them?  How much of their expert medical advice and opinion related to Covid prove to be correct? How is the country doing now with Orangeman gone? Quite a bit of egg on the face! Well that is if the egg shortage is over.

As far as I'm concerned; the "site" became a convenient excuse for a select mouthy few to bail out and drag any supporters with them, before having to face the music for being revealed for being so wrong on so much. It was like someone breaking wind in the supermarket aisle then running to the other aisle.

But then again, what the hell do I know? Like everything else I was told was not really happening over the past 3 1/2 years, it's probably just another conspiracy theory.

I would suggest this site is a lot more accepting of differing opinions now than it was prior to the exodus.

From the way it looked to me, nobody "ran away" for fear of expressing their opinions. They talked about how bad this site was, that it was going to fail or disappear, and how great things would be once they all met at their new promise land. They chose to leave. Let's not now rewrite history and turn them into victims!

Great post. All Facts!!!  This site is much better without the clique. If you notice that site is all the same people, not growing really at all and full of pop ups. No Thanks!

I totally agree with you, except for the fact that most of the pot stirrers that left were the ones calling for the banning and censoring of other members when their lies were challenged with facts, also breaking several rules and then crying like babies when they were put into time out.

You can only have a discussion of opposing viewpoints with adults, so the cry babies started another site and I wish them well.

I would also like to see a growing membership, but it is what it is.

Great Post. No truer words spoken. There has not been one episode of anyone getting their panties in a bunch since they all left.  And Bill you were the loudest person telling everyone how this place sucked and would disappear and the other site would be so much better. Well how did that work out for ya?  I saw your hands get slapped a few times over there by the what 7-8-9 mods they have for just disagreeing with someone. All that site is made up of is by the ones that left here. Good for them. This site is so much better now !!!

I checked the other site . A crybaby on that site that still checks in here was whining about getting a warning point for language from me . Apparently I let what little authority I have on here went to my head . Shame on me ! Mea culpa , mea culpa , mea maxima culpa ...........

Just don't post their link on here ........

They all still check in here. Belo got tossed because he came back just to do what he was best at… Stirring the pot!  The biggest noise maker that said this site sucked and new people could not join and this site was going to disappear still finds the need to post here. Those that stayed here are those that do not need to live on an internet hunting site. Maybe quieter here but much more enjoyable.

It's turkey season and this site is dead.

Maybe because people are out enjoying the season instead of living on some hunting site. Some people don’t have to brag or throw their kills all over the internet. But if it’s turkeys you need to see here in Number 2 for the season with a couple beards as a kicker. Enjoy!!!

I would seriously purchase the site if I knew how?

I would also. I actually paid like $15 a year for years to help the place along. Up until the idiots showed up and a whole lot of the crap was let go on here without any repercussions.

It does suck that the site owner is AWOL . I see various guests looking at the site and I don't have the power to approve anyone to get new members . I don't / haven't got any response from burmjohn and he does post on facebook .

What I am seeing is , a few members with very few posts coming out of the woodwork and joining in on conversations .

Exactly. And if you ask them they would tell you they were not posting because of the few that left with the pack mentality and the shit stirrers. This is the site now that it should be. New members in would be nice but at least now we have a group here that posts what they want and no idiot comes behind them and talks smack about their post. You notice now on this site we really don’t need a mod per se because everyone stays in their own lane. That other site thinks they have to have what 6-7 mods?  And that site is pretty much made up from the ones that left here.      This site will not go anywhere. The owner see’s what goes on here and who talks all the smack and hopefully when it does come back better then ever he keeps the idiots that were ruining this site to begin with right where they are.

As long as members keep posting on this site , it will remain . It has slowed down quite a bit and if you notice , no arguing . The sky isn't falling !

Amazing how things change when the instigators disappear.

At this point in time the title of this thread is nothing more than hyperbole (BS). It's just people spouting off on some web sites on what they think needs to happen. One wolf here and people go crazy and want hunting reform while others just spread the propaganda.

Links to a couple sites babbling about this:

https://www.adirondackalmanack.com/2023/03/nysdec-now-admits-cooperstown-wolf-was-a-wild-wolf.html#:~:text=Some of the coyote management, daily or seasonal bag limits.

    https://www.protectadks.org/nysdec-now-admits-cooperstown-wolf-was-a-wild-wolf/

Just look at Minnesota if you have any doubts. The idiot democrats are destroying the Deer and about every other four legged creature trying to protect these useless vermin. The last thing Ny needs are wolves and i’m sure the season would be 24/7 every day of every year for those also by many.

Was watching some stuff from him today. He obviously hasn’t toned it down a started acting like a President. The Republican Party is so screwed. If he is the GOP nominee I think we will be stuck with Joey for another 4 years.

After seeing everything going on these last two plus years I really believe the last thing he should do is tone it down. I kinda thought he might but after all Americans have been screwed for so long he needs to be very loud and remind them of such. The left will crush the guy from Florida if he goes in showing weakness. And if he can’t beat trump at that game he has no chance of being the leader of the free world.

Yeah, it does seem a bit like eating a dog.........Lol.

I’m in the same boat. I have them like crazy here and don’t even hunt them. I pretty much give anyone the green light to go in the property to hunt them just to try and keep the pests numbers down. As long as they don’t get to the numbers the coyotes once got to where war had to be declared I have no interest in shooting or eating one.

Wow!!!! That is awesome Four Seasons, I'm thinking a lot of good times there!!!!

    Robby

Without a doubt. I have made sure our properties have always been managed towards us enjoying our hunts.   Some choices had to be made at times be it right or wrong. Some may not agree but they are also not the ones paying the taxes.

Not impressed at all. If someone  wants to pay big bucks for a Super easy Gobbler  in a High Fence hunt. That is their decision.

I already wrote that,I Love Public Land. That is not a complaint. You need to reflect more .

There is a difference  between Turkey Hunting and Turkey Shooting..

I can't  wait  to pit my Woodsmanship  and Calling skills on a Pressured  Public Gobbler.  I hope it takes me a few weeks so,I can Throughly  enjoy the outdoors.

And I am not talking about Typical Private Lands here- just High Fence.

Are you really that dense? Where the hell do you come up with turkeys and high fence hunting in the same sentence?  First of all on our 1000 acre farm only 50 of it is in any kind of fence with the rest managed for some of the best hunting in the county and second do you really think a person could fence in a bird? I know your not real bright but come on now.   You want to see some of the other birds we fence in also.

     Good Luck.

I am glad,I Turkey Hunt Public/ MUAs.  I hope to never take my 2 Gobblers on May 1st and 2nd every year.

I start on April 25th and hope to Kill a New Jersey Gobbler on Public.

Hoping it takes me up to 2 Weeks to get my 2- New York Gobblers on Crowded  Public which,I absolutely  love. It takes my Woodsmanship  and Calling Skills to higher levels each Spring.

I don't  think,I could pot shot a Easy Gobbler behind a Decoy  with no Calling needed.  Same spot next morning-- 2 Down . Too easy. If one has the money though and no Skills- it is ok for them,I guess.

Hopefully,I can Kill a 2nd New Jersey Gobbler  before the cutoff on May 20th.

Good Luck To All This Spring.

Exactly why you are still fighting the bugs and all the other hunters you complain about every year at the end of May while you are still out there trying to find a bird. Some of us are smart enough to put ourselves in a position to be able to go hunting anytime in the month of May and kill a great bird. You think there was any bitching because we take care of our birds and property so someone could have hunting days like this.  Turkeys are really not that tough to figure out. Hardest part is finding the bird for most. We make sure that is never an issue.

I have almost perfect turkey habitat right out the back doo, in the last ten years I would say the population is less than half what it was. Too many birds of prey, coyotes, and all the fur bearing animals no one is trapping these days, they're all nest raiders!

It has made hunting more of a challenge and even more exciting the you ask, 'you talk'n to me?'.

    Robby

Exactly why we called all out war on every vermin on our properties. The stupid laws in this state do not work on the landowners side when it comes to that. Many landowners that bought their hunting properties to do just that are now doing whatever it takes to make sure their lands continue to fill their needs. The four legged problems are easy to fix but the winged are a different story. Coons are the biggest problem around here. Or were anyways.

For me this is a pretty involved process, and this year even more so because I have finished two guns for just this purpose, a 24Ga. and a 16Ga., neither has been patterned yet. Heck, half the fun is tuning up a new gun and maybe making a new box call, or even  a new slate call.

    Robby

Just keeping an eye on them around here. Keep it pretty simple. Not much involved in filling a couple tags. We feed them well all year so the process stays easy.

No sense?  You get on here and tell a guy to put his call into the DEC to change a hunting season when DEC has nothing to do with hunting seasons in ny state. Yup your 2 state knowledgeable about hunting. Best stick to your you-tube videos.
