High winds here in Oyster Bay. Not too much rain. Lost cable tv for about one hour and lights have been flickering. Some pictures of Theodore Roosevelt Park in OB This is Fireman's field under water. You need to broadhead tune your bow using the actual broadhead. It's as simple as moving your arrow rest. I found this video and did it to mine. It shows how to do it with a fixed blade but I did it with my swhackers mechanical and it worked.

It didn't help that there was no wind whatsoever to cover the slightest noises.

I have a ladderstand against a tree about 10-15 into the wood line. There is a canopy attached which I have had pushed back and tied up for the entire year. Don't use it anymore. The wind (what little it was) was blowing toward me. So I know he didn't smell me. You are probably right that he was more curious than anything else but he never presented a broadside shot. when he comes in and out of the picture at the bottom he was staring head on - as soon as he turned his head to the right I drew back. Must have been the noise of my draw that spooked him. I am looking for some meat but he didn't present a broadside shot or quartering to when he came in closer. It's off the camera when he walks in closer. Trust me, I wish he stood there longer and took one step to his right - I would have released an arrow but I think I may have rushed it and drew back too early. But it was exciting to see him come in from that distance.

On Saturday morning, I called in this small 6 pt from about 200 yards away. He made two scrapes along the way. Camera's zoom is not the best but saw it through my Bushnell binos that he was a 6pt.

Cleaned out my wood stove chimney in case i need to light it to cook if we lose power and after a long hot shower I'm on my couch with my dog watching the Jets losing...again! Well... Just before legal shooting time a buck comes waltzing in. Looked like it was a 6 but as it came closer to 25 yds and i drew back i got busted. Turns out he was only a 4. Got him on video. Called in a six pt from 200 yds with grunts and bleats. Comes to about 50 yds making two scrapes along the way. He takes off and then this little guy shows up. Walks right under my stand. Now why couldnt his daddy do that??
