Well , I screwed up . A few minutes after 7 , I shot what I thought was a doe . It was limited light in the laneway and the deer was 25 yards away . Luckily I had practiced at that distance . Anyway , the deer took off into the bean field and I lost sight of it . I called my son to let him know I had hit a deer because I had seen the illuminated nok hit . I waited a half hour , got down from the ladder stand and went into the field . It was overcast , so I didn't see any blood until I came across a bloody spot where the deer had laid down . I saw the deer stand , take a few steps and lay back down . I tore a piece of hankerchief and marked the spot on a tall weed where the deer had last laid . I went back to my stand and sat for well over an hour . My son who had been sitting in a stand at the back of the woods said we had waited long enough and came up on his ATV . He was several hundred yards away from me . I showed Matt where the deer was when I shot . We looked around and started finding specks of blood and then some big spots of blood . Finally found the deer thanks to it's white belly . Not a doe , it was a Spike buck . I have knee surgery this coming Thursday and today was the only day I could hunt . And , thanks to my son , I was able to hunt and retrieve the deer .

I had my opening day spot picked out near Honeoye but my son just tested positive for Covid . My backup is to hunt one one my stands in Geneseo with my oldest son opening day . I want to get out at least once before I have my knee replacement .

Happy birthday .

It was a very smart move having Josh sit out the fourth quarter in the second game. It was a blowout and there was no reason to take a chance on him getting hurt in meaningless time . It has been a long painful bunch of years rooting for the Bills only to be let down with Wide Right and Four Straight Super Bowl Losses. Go Bills and Squish the Fish !

Since the price of aluminum has sky rocketed, those aluminum foil hats are going to be pricey . -
We think we are getting over the COVID. Wednesday we take the train to Limerick, stay overnight and fly home Thursday. Will have to take another test first .

We have a Generac whole house generator. It does a five minute self test once a week. I don't mess with it and have it serviced yearly. We get about three power outages each year.

We landed in Shannon Airport in Ireland September 10 . We stayed in Limmeric and moved north on the Tour. Saw several sites and stayed in different hotels . Toured Belfast and headed for Dublin. My wife was feeling ill yesterday, September 16 , and took a Covid test. Positive. I took the test and same results. We were scheduled to tour and dine at the Guinness factory last night but couldn't. We are quarantined and are stuck in Dublin for five days. We wore face masks while on the Tour Bus and still caught the Covid . Sweaty, clammy and tired. Damn Covid !

Glad it did so I could assemble it and get rid of the packaging . excellent instructions and no shortage of parts . It will be a lot easier to move stuff in this than the wheel barrow .

I am only posting this on the site as things have been slow during the non-hunting . What's going on with Billing Departments ? In the past few weeks , I have contacted 3 different medical billing departments . I asked the Reps where they are located . You got it , the Philippines . Today I went round and round trying to talk to someone from PayPal billing . When I finally got a Rep , I asked where she was located and she said , "India" . Apparently it must be much cheaper for companies to handle their billing off-shore . That's pretty sad !

What is the asking price on the Bow Outfit or is it Free ? -
I have 2 sons that hunt and would gladly fill them . I got an 8G tag by mistake that someone might want .

I was at my youngest son's Saturday for dinner . He showed me 3 different stands that I could use on opening day . I picked the one in a pine tree . I can ride his ATV to the stand . Whether I get a shot or not , at least I will get out and get it out of my system . He offered to have me stay over and hunt 2 days . I think I will pass on that as after hunting morning and afternoon , I am pretty well whipped . Not young any more . As for postponing my knee replacement , I have already done that so I can make the trip to Ireland . My daily pain runs between a 7 - 8 most of the time .

My Sniper 370 won't even get dusted off this season . I am having knee replacement October 6 so I expect to get out one or two times before that with my compound . Then , I probably won't get out again until gun season .
