  1. I have about 5 for elk and antelope and mule deer. Was thinking of either doing a combo antelope/Mule Deer hunt or solely Elk. This would probably be in 2021 or 2022. This year is out for me as i have a kid on the way in September.
  2. I have a bunch of points in WY also. Waiting for the day when I decide to cash them in. Any folks here interested in planning a future hunt?
  3. LOL this is helpful. I have my first on the way this September and am in full panic mode how hunting will fit in this year. Been scouting public land in Long Island in the hopes I can get some short morning and afternoon sits in this year.
  4. Thanks all this is good feedback. I also found the below in a Newsday article regarding Massapequa creek in case anyone is interested. https://www.newsday.com/lifestyle/recreation/outdoors/restocked-with-trout-connetquot-river-ready-for-fly-fishing-1.13378436 OTHER TROUT FISHING SPOTS Massapequa Reservoir South of Clark Street and north of Sunrise Highway, Massapequa Fishing is best near the outflow dam at south end of lake. Newly stocked rainbow trout average 8-9 inches while browns measure 12-15 inches.
  5. Thanks for the feedback! What system are you running as your saddle set up, and how long do you typically sit/stand in the tree when you hunt with this set up?
  6. I wonder if you can do an out of state bow hunter ed and then apply it to your NYS license, similarly to how it works for us when we buy out of state tags?
  7. I saw some signs along the creek that you can fish all year long for rainbows and something else. I think they are trying to bring back the brook trout population there so I assume trout as well. Just not sure how the action is or if there is a part of the creek that is better than others.
  8. Welcome. Not sure if I am wrong or not, but I think you can get the online bowhunter course but not 100% sure.
  9. Hey All, I did a run through the Massapequa Preserve this weekend and the trail runs the Massapequa creek which I see you can fly fish. Has anyone here ever fished the creek? Is it worth giving it a shot and any tips you may have to offer? BK
  10. I had a shop set up a Prime bow for me and they did a pretty bad job so I was trying to go back and reset everything. I adjusted timing with a Prime tech and when I made the adjustment, and then drew back the string is now off to the right and looks like it is rubbing against the top cam. I wound up buying a press and a vice to start doing all my own work, but I have no idea what is causing the issue.
  11. Hey All, Was curious how many of you use saddles? Been taking a look but not sure if I should dive in seems like from what I see it should be used for short sits since to me it looks like you’re standing the whole time with no option to sit and take a load off. Curious to hear how you all like them and what the pros and cons are to you. BK Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hey All, I’ve been trying to tune and set up a bow and every time I do one thing it seems to cause another issue. Does anyone know of a good bow tech on Long Island? I live in Nassau so close by would be preferable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I used to only hunt upstate, but with a baby on the way due in September, I need to find some hunting spots close to home for quick morning and afternoon sits. Desperate times call for desperate measures lol
  14. Thanks for the detailed response! I used sawyers this weekend and still saw ticks crawling on my clothes. Some dropped off some I flicked off as I was going. I was scouting in Long Island which is loaded with ticks, so this process seems like a lot better then what I was doing. I sprayed some sawyers but not as drenched as you get. Do you just do your pants and shirt? and leave base layers non-treated?
  15. Was looking at this any thoughts? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0048EY6KY/?coliid=I3U605LTDEER3Z&colid=3LLQS1W6O2JHT&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
  16. Hey All, Did a little scouting today and the sawyers worked well but not as great as I thought. Still saw ticks crawling on me but nothing on the skin which is good. I heard folks here make their own spray out of permethrin concertante since sawyers is so expensive. Have to order some stuff from tractor supply so was wondering if there is a recommendation from there that you all use but will order from somewhere else if you recommend that too. Thanks! 17. I haven't see those. Have you seen them online?
  18. Hey All, I have the EZ Green press with the draw board attachment and the band that secures the riser to the draw board snapped on my second time using it. Does anyone else use anything to secure the riser to the draw board attachment?
  19. Not full sun all day but gets a good amount. I would say 6 hrs of direct light, but rarely shady except for early and late hrs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. Highly recommend this. I seasoned the roast with salt and pepper and browned it in a cast iron, then deglazed the pan with a cup of beef broth. I added to the crock pot a pack of Good brand dry italian dressing seasoning, half a jar of pepperoncini peppers drained, a jar of giardiniera drained, a while sliced onion and a sliced red and green bell pepper. Put the crock pot on low for 9 hours and then put it on a hero with spicy hoagie spread and melted some provolone on top. Put some of the juice from the slow cooker in a bowl and used it as a dipper for each bite. AMAZING!!!
