After the snow I saw the scraps get refreshed hard where I am in 4Y and some rubs. You could see all the fresh shavings on top of the snow.

I was out the last two days of bow and all opening weekend. The last day of bow I saw a monster and some spikes all with does and sniffing their rears with a lot of action all day. The next day for the gun opener the deer disappeared and all I saw were two fawns and one spike it was strange. Maybe they went into lock down as I didn't hear a lot of shots either.

Hey All, I was looking to get a stand alone sausage stuffer as I'm not a fan of using the grinder. Can anyone recommend a good one? I'm thinking I only need a 5 pounder but am open to suggestions on why a larger one is better. Mike

Hey All, I just moved to Long Island and was trying to get out for a few days of late season bow, but had a questions regarding tags. Since LI doesn't really have a fire arms season in some parts, can I use my archery season tags during the regular season? Or would I need to tag a deer with my buck/dmp tag for the regular season. Just not sure how that works down here. Any guidance is appreciated. BK

I hunt private but with my time limited to get away for an entire weekend I want to start hunting the public that is close to me. My biggest issue is since I haven't scouted it yet I don't want to go in during the season and mess up other peoples hunts. Here is a time where info would be great. If not I will go scouting in the winter and spring and hunt it next year. I would have no issue sharing info. I learned mostly everything on my own and would have loved to have someone show me the ropes. I enjoy helping and teaching others as long as I didn't show them my tree and when I come in the next morning that's where they are. Respect and boundaries.

Anyone here carrying the Sig P365? Any comments on this pistol? I have been very interested in picking one up in 9MM.

Some big deer being taken so far in LI. I have see some other guys shooting some great animals. Not of the OP caliber but a lot bigger then anything I have take or have even seen on the hoof.

Hey All, I was reading somewhere that instead of buying the deer branded washing detergent for scent free washes you can buy something else in the grocery store for a fraction of the price. I believe it was an arm and hammer product, does anyone know what this is? Same went for a deodorant stick. BK

Someone was saying there is an alternative that you can buy at tractor supple and make your own. Ay idea what I can ask for at tractor and what is the ratio to add to water?

I did a back pack archery Elk hunt in CO last year. Came out empty handed but one of the greatest things I have done in my life. Trying to make it an annual thing. This year it didn't play out as I got married and bought a house, but hoping to do Idaho next year. I highly recommend it. I would even be interested if someone wanted to plan something. I went solo and it did get lonely back there all alone.

I was curious if anyone has the Hunter Safety Systems Ultralite Flex Harness? I am not sure if I need to get the S/M size or the L/XL size. I fall into the higher range of the S/M but with clothing not sure if it will be to snug. I am 165 and 5'9". Does anyone know where I can order a large plastic cutting board material that I can customize to a counter top? I wanted to build a make shift cutting board on construction horses or to throw on and off my work bench.

Hey All, In order to be a better hunter I believe you really need to understand animal behavior. I am looking to gain more knowledge on White tail and elk behavior not technically how to hunt them, would anyone have any good book recommendations for these two species. Can be separate books of course. BK

I am thinking of hunting the island a little this year. The ticks always kept me away, but I bought sawyers and hope it does the trick. I had a tick buried in my back this may and took a cycle of doxy lymes scares the hell out of me. What does everyone on the island do when they get a deer down. Do you all butcher it in the field and then just transport them home in coolers? also do you bag and immediately wash your hunting gear at the truck? I'm trying to not bring any ticks bad with me to the house at all costs.
