  8. Was able to sneak out for an evening sit. Had a buck coming in when I also noticed one scent checking the bedding area. This busted up jr warrior came in and started getting finicky. He had both sides busted off. From behind me I hear a snort wheeze. He took of....I was sure it was a giant so I slowly turned and to my surprise it was a high racked fork horn.... Had a lone doe come out in the clover right around legal and I got down and out since I had a wake to get to. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  11. There's guys putting balls in their mouth and were gonna bother to argue about aging deer on the hoof ? My night was great but painful. Had a doe come out with a mature in tow....but he just walked off. Then another doe came out and a giant ran her right back into the thick stuff. Got her locked down. Hoping he lets her eat in the am, then I'll let the ghost eat. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  12. Swore I saw your truck in the garage this am ! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  14. Great morning sit. Saw a pile of bucks. Got this guys pic cause he followed me in and made it difficult to get up, in and settled. Had big guy hiding out holding a doe hostage. I couldn't make out his rack. Seemed like forever but she finally came my way, ranged her at 28, he finally came out of the thick stuff, saw decent rack....he kept coming....I put him in the scope....mehhhh.....he stopped, and I passed. Great looking deer. Awesome encounter, but not coming home with me. Also saw a deer swim the creek today. Potentially one of the coolest/craziest/dumbest things I've seen a buck do in the rut. Great morning !! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  15. Gotcha. I have to go to a wake tomorrow so I cant be much help, but I think it's worth a look. Liver shot is a dead deer. If you aimed any higher than low heart, you most likely have a high hit since he prob dropped with the far shot. Both liver and high hits typically don't have great blood trails. Usually drips. Liver shot deer want to bed within 100. If you bumped him he prob only went another 100 or so. If I had to guess, you might have hit high liver and the lack of blood/ why you lost it is because he was running. You may want to focus on finding hoof tracks Vs blood till you get back on it. If you want any kind of assistance you can pm me and I'll give you my cell. If not, this forum is loaded with knowledge to help with recovery. If you can, get a dog out there cause they have the nose and any tracker would be willing to go after a liver hit deer. Im hoping you consider the fact you took the shot and wounded, and that buck deserves every effort to be recovered. Coyote bait or not, my .02 is you owe it to the deer. Good luck !!!!
