Awesome video. Congrats! Maybe you should play the lottery...seems like you've got some luck! lol -
Definitely will be back out for the late season. I haven't had any luck thus far and refuse to call it quits just yet! Hopefully we will actually see some snow before the season end as well!

Doewhacker, then maybe you should keep your jokes to eachother instead of a public forum where people may get offended. have a great holiday and happy hunting...what these forums are actually for.

Hey Steve863, What if the wife is actually the person helping her husband drag the deer out of the woods, even though it's his third for the season and she's been sitting every morning and night possible and hardly seeing anything but was nice enough to stop her hunt to help him drag, gut, and process his deer? Maybe you shouldn't always jump to conclusions or find someone that's more than just a "ball and chain" Just a thought....

MOVE! Before tuesday I would have said the exact opposite but I went out tuesday morning for a ground hunt. Sst for about 45min and saw 3 does about 70 yrds off. It's just about the only action I've had all bow season so I said screw it and moved up to where they walked through. Literally not even 5 minutes later 2 more does walked the same path not 10 yrds from where I was standing. Would've had a shot but they came in so close so quick that I spooked them drawing back. Also, My boyfriend was really disliking his hanger this morning because it was leaning forward making it uncomfortable, he decided to get up and move it slightly to a different angle to allow some more lean back. Right after he sat back down he had a buck come out from right next to him and shot him at 20 yrs away. It's pretty unbelieveable but definitely worth it. I hope this helps you and GOOD LUCK!!

Before even clicking on the link to open this forum I thought, what are the chances that out of any place in NYS this post is about Larrys....and sure enough, it is. My boyfriend has taken his deer here for the pure reason of circumstance. It's close and open when others have been closed. We decided that from now on, we only want the basics done. Steaks, sausage, etc. we will do ourselves. He adds pork fat and we have found chewy cartilage in all of our sausage. Plus, it seems to be overpriced for the quality that you actually receive. We are desperately looking for a close good place to take our deer from now on because we don't have the means to do it ourselves (we live in an apt. in the middle of town). I highly suggest NOT GOING TO LARRYS! P.S. the pickup has always been inconvenient as well. His wife will call my boyfriend and say that he needs to pick it up RIGHT THEN before she goes out to run errands. That means he has to go pick it up, bring it home, then head back that same direction to work. It's what's convenient for them, not their customers.

I'm in love with my Mission Riot. Mission is made by Matthews which is guarenteed for a good product. The riot is good for a variety of reasons. It's extremely versitile as it could be used for someone pulling 40lbs or 70lbs. The draw length can also be altered for a variety of people. It has double cams with a very smooth pull over. The accuracy is also another reason why I love this bow. At 40lbs, I'm dead on everytime, at any yardage which says a lot about the bow. Especially for the price, it's hard to go wrong with this bow. Because of it's versitility, it's also beneficial to resell if he ever wants to change or to hand down to his girlfriend, kids, etc. I've also heard very good things about the new Ballistic. Haven't tried it myself but it may be something to look into. Either way, I would highly suggest either a Matthews or Mission, I've never heard any complaints from either...Hope this was helpful and happy hunting!

My boyfriend and I were out on seperate properties last year. We were asking eachother of the action as usual. I said, "seeing anything?" he replied, "na, you?" before I could reply that I had only seen a few out of range (3 min later) I got another text from him that said, "buck down." It wasn't until he sent me a picture that I believed it! It's amazing how fast they come into sight and how fast they go.

Phade, I just saw the same post from my NY Antler Outdoors group on facebook. What a great buck!

My boyfriend and I hunt in groveland right outside of Geneseo. There are definitely deer out here. We've seen quite a few does, some young basket rack bucks and also a couple of bigger, shooter bucks. We will be out pretty much any weekend and a few times during the week as well. We haven't noticed any signs of the rut yet though. Mainly stray deer or in bachelor groups. Haven't seen any bucks with does yet. Hope this was helpful. Are you hunting state land or private?
