Microstamping legislation
Mr VJP replied to philoshop's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
No that was only ballistic fingerprinting. They thought they could match fired cases to guns, but turns out it can't be done and it cost a fortune to try. No micro stamping was involved. BTW, it's very simple to defeat micro stamping with sand paper. You can also just pick up the brass or use a revolver. -
March is the month I have time to do all of the house stuff I've been putting off for months, like fixing drawers and faucets. It is also when I like to reload all of the empty cartridges I have saved from a year of hunting and shooting.

Depends on the type of hunting. In cold wet weather, where you may be out in the woods for a week, stainless has a lot less to worry about. It is also harder than most regular steel and tends to hold up better in the bore after lots of rounds are put through it. I like it myself and find it to be much lower maintenance than blued steel. I also prefer a Kevlar composite stock to wood or laminates.

Yeah, makes me wonder if they ever put anything negative in their reviews, which seem to coincide with a lot of paid advertising for the firearm they review. Chuck Hawks made note of it in his review and just about every article you find on the net about it has comments from readers about it too. I think a lot of 555's got returned soon after purchase also.

Years ago when living in Maryland, I hunted dove every September. It was a real blast. I would love to do more of it, but in NY it wouldn't be the same in the Catskill region.

Sounds to me like you've swallowed the propaganda completely. It's like personal injury lawsuits. Remember John Edwards, the one who ran as a VP candidate? Made a fortune in medical malpractice. Trouble was, it was later determined his entire case wasn't based on any medical science at the time and was only proven false after the lawsuits were paid. It was the perception of medical malpractice the juries bought. Put a lot of practices out of business and drove medical insurance rates through the roof too. His reputation only got better after that too. A real gem he was. There was also once a time in America when your property value could go down if the wrong people bought the house next to yours. The drop in value was also real, but it was based on a perceived situation also. The proof of the value dropping was only related to the fear, perpetrated by those who were adamantly against integration, nothing more. It's an old tactic. It is easy to create enough fear to cause real damage to people's assets without any proof there is really anything to fear at all. But it works very well for the side that wishes to put a stop to something they don't want to see, like fracking. As far as the economics of the situation go, I'll refer you to the Chambers of Commerce in PA for the details. I'm sure they will be happy to tell you how happy they are with fracking in their state. As far as secession goes. I would love to see these NY State areas become part of PA. It would be a sharp stick up the anus of the most tyrannical Governor NY has ever seen.

10. I’ll vote Democrat because I can’t wait for college football season to be delayed or cancelled because the student athletes are union employees. 9. I’ll vote Democrat because I believe oil company’s profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t. 8. I’ll vote Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would. 7. I’ll vote Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it. 6. I’ll vote Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. I am also thankful that we have a 911 service that get police to your home in order to identify your body after a home invasion. 5. I’ll vote Democrat because I’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive and comfy. 4. I’ll vote Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we should take away the Social Security from those who paid into it. 3. I’ll vote Democrat because I believe that businesses should NOT be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit. 2. I’ll vote Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters. And the Number One reason I’ll vote Democrat is: 1. I’ll vote Democrat because I think that it’s better to pay billions for oil to people who hate us, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, gopher, fish or frog.

The lawsuit is about his property value being affected by "PERCEIVED" consequences of fracking. The definition of that word means unproven. My support for fracking has to do with the economy and jobs. That's the same motive for these NY areas wanting to become part of PA. Your fears have nothing to do with facts.

I've experienced it a few times and it is always an eye opener when it happens. It will almost always happen on a double with two triggers if the shooter has a finger on each trigger when he fires the front one. I've even done it intentionally in my youth a few times, trying to make sure I kill that turkey with 2 3/4" loads.
-
From what I've read, if you tend to squeeze the trigger like a rifle, it will double quite often. If you pull the trigger hard and fast, it won't. Apparently the trigger can be adjusted to a heavier pull to fix the problem. I just wouldn't want it to double on me when I was shooting ducks with heavy 3" Mag loads in it. At only 6 pounds total weight, that's gotta hurt.
-
The 20 is only 5.5 lbs and is also a 3" chamber. I think they are trying to resolve the doubling issue with the trigger and that has simply slowed the number of guns being shipped to America.

You'd rather have your feed clogged with posts about road kill?

The perfect North American pair
Mr VJP replied to Borngeechee's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
It's a bit much for Whitetail at 50 yards though, wouldn't you say? -
They're made in Turkey, so supply gets short here in the US sometimes. Maybe they have stopped bringing them in until they fix the issue with both barrels doubling sometimes. It has a single trigger and there have been reports of both barrels firing at once. Since the gun only weighs 6 pounds, which is very light for a 3" mag 12 gauge, it can be a pain.
