I filled my ML tag last evening with a nice doe that weighs 180 lbs field dressed. One shot through the heart at about 65 yards. I still ML hunt with a 40 year old Thomson Center Hawken in .45 caliber, with the original iron sights, using a 240 grain lead Maxi-ball, Pyrodex powder and #11 caps. I made it from one of their kits back then and have been hunting deer with it ever since. I still do everything the same way I've done it for 40 years now. It works, so I don't see a need to change anything. Besides, I really enjoy hunting with an old school ML like that. It's a blast. Love all of that white smoke after the shot too.

My neighbor on the other side of the mountain bagged this beauty last Thursday in the tail end of rifle season. More evidence the antler restrictions are working. Probably because it keeps the hunter numbers down, since downstate folks don't hunt in the AR zone, because they just want to shoot a legal buck. Also proves if you keep at it for the whole season, and keep a positive attitude, this can become reality. With the split brow tine it counts as an 11 pointer.

Yeah I lost interest early because I'm way past Hunting 101. Stop the deflecting and let's get on with the game already.

The deer are where the hunting pressure isn't. If they got through the season unmolested in a certain area, that's where they are now. I have plenty by me because there is very little hunting pressure in this area. I didn't even bother to fill my second doe tag, because I have enough meat already and still have the ML season ahead of me. The deer are all wary though. They get that way this time of year, even if they haven't seen a hunter. Are there any good bucks around? Yes, but probably nocturnal by now, but you never know when one will decide to move during the day. If you see sign from a good buck in an area, he's probably nocturnal, but nice weather, a cold front, new snow, or any number of reasons may get him moving in day light. Find the right area and put in the time. That's real hunting.

Maybe you should check my activity also. I don't post just any hunting stuff I do. I hunt a lot and I've been at this for 50 years and taken every type of small game in NY, turkey, duck, geese, a few bobcat, coyotes, bear and at least 100 deer. If I have a noteworthy hunt, I may post it on here, otherwise to me it seems mundane. I post trail cam photos if they are interesting and hunting info when I think others may like it, but I hunt alone 99% of the time and I don't do selfies. Your perception is not reality. My hunting is relaxing and productive, but IMHO not impressive on average, so I see no need to share it all the time. Let's stop with all of this drama and misdirection and get to the game. Posting or no posting? That is the question.

I don't brag about anything, I just point out how many of you can't hold a civil debate and don't seem to have an analytical mind. That's not bragging, that's just observation.

How is equality for all a head start for me? You want the sub eliminated and I want people who don't like it to stay out of it? I don't see why you are opposed to that. You guys will never see another post from me in the political forum, not even humor, as long as you all stay completely out of it too. We make up a list of everyone who is in the game and we start. Hey fool, I need to address all these posts prior to getting to the meat. I've been here since 2012. I lost interest pretty quick and fell off. Got back on again in 2016 when Trump was running and people here were trashing him. Got active again in 2020 when people were trashing Trump again. I can understand your reluctance to accept the challenge I present, but it stands as I presented it. It's just for fun to see who can do it. Quit anytime you like. Test your commitment to your goal. The sacrifice has to be equal for the game to be fair. It's all or nothing. That's the challenge. Once again, I'm good to go right now to show my commitment to my goal. C'mon man!

No, it doesn't. The problem with abortion is it's lack of standing in the US Constitution. It is never mentioned and is not enumerated as a right, especially a natural born one. It was granted by the court, which makes it a privilege. If the govt creates a "right", the govt can also remove it. The 2nd Amendment is a right recognized from the beginning of this nation as being a "God given right" one is born with, to defend their life. The states are going to fail in this attempt to retaliate against a Constitutional right that has no relationship to the govt granted privilege they are upset is being questioned. Vindictive legislation has always been frowned upon by the SCOTUS for the very reason it is being proposed now.
