Why yes that is me posing nicely in my buddies treestand as he takes a pic of me... it was a staged pic that I used for the header of my website... it was taken in January...after the season... I hunt from the ground with my recurve and have for the last 11 years... 11 years I might add that I have passed on at least 50 bucks within 20 yards...but haven't had one of my liking close enough to kill.. and have gone without a buck with my bow for all those exciting 11 years... looking forward to #12... does it really bother you all that much that I don't hunt over a food plot or sit in a treestand all day? I'm not sure why everyone cares so much... I just don't enjoy hunting like most guys do... I did years ago.. but I just don't get enjoyment anymore hunting the age old conventional way... sorry I do a mix of both. There is nothing like taking a nice slow walk / stalk. In fact, I saw the biggest buck during gun season in my scope too during a walk. And I did not pull the trigger because I had no line of sight behind him (it was on sort of on a peak, then it dipped down and then the mountain behind it) and I had my brother (at least I thought) only about 300 yards (or less) in front of me and I take no chances with the gun. Good news is I know this buck is around for next year because we saw him during muzzle season, my uncle had a misfire on the same buck - He is one lucky buck - a nice big 8 ptr, maybe more this year!

I think it was 900 for the door, and 350 for the opener. But you could go with a cheaper opener, I went with the silent one because my master is right above the garage. The door was the CHI (I think 2216) which is the 15.38 R-Value door (I wanted / needed the highest R-value b/c my garage has pipes / heat) And of course you could save $ by going with a cheaper door too.

He have a website?

Yeah he looks like a big bodied boy.

No windows for me, my door is short (low head room too) so anyone could see in, and I rather not have the ability for someone to peek in. If you notice my door is only about 6feetish by 9 feet wide.

I ordered this thing last night called storm shield, its a threashold for the garage door... http://www.elite-xpressions.com/stormshield.htm - It was only 24 bux on Amazon for a 10 foot piece. Even though the door seals now, my floor is uneven, this might even make a better tighter seal especially since I spent the extra $$ on getting a good insulated door, I dont want it to be compromised by a bad seal at the bottom.

Are you kidding? I have trouble keeping the grass in my yard alive .. let alone get a food plot to grow Hehehe
-
I bet nyantler has the biggest plot of all of us too, put my little 1 acre deal to shame
-
No way It was a low profile deal too, so I had a pro do it especially with adding the opener and the low clearance for that as well. ... He was very meticulous.

I finally got a new garage door and now have an opener... Man its so nice to have a functioning garage door, it was well overdue. The one that was on there was an old heavy wood door with broken springs and a jacked up track, its one of the last big things other then a shed that I needed to get done for the house. I went with a high r-value (13ish) door because I have pipes and heat in the garage. It came out great, what's even better is I have have an opener. Its a silent system, runs on a Kevlar belt, its really amazing. The opener is this guy - > http://www.marantecamerica.com/customers/residential.html?id=4 - I'm really impressed with it, plus it has a lifetime.

http://www.fox40.com/news/newsatten/ktxl-peta-uses-microwave-baby-case-as-billboard-inspiration-20110623,0,136114.story "If we think microwaving a human being is wrong, we should also consider whether or not cooking an animal is the right thing to do," said Lindsey Rajt with PETA. "Every animal that was killed by the meat industry to be microwaved and eaten was someone's baby at some point." Really? Are these people insane? Oh wait... Nevermind.

Same goes for cutting shooting lanes, trimming tree's, bushes and everything else too. Might as well lump tree stands, blinds, camo clothing, scent cover ups, and anything else that may or may not help in with your hunt. And don't forget scents / lures too.

Yes, I was, I like that place a lot. I just wish they had some 30 yard spots.
-
I'm hopefully in, would rather do this later sept or something.. (I have a newborn ) If we have enough I could talk with the local archery range and see if we can shoot cheap or something.
-
Only if you bring your car and take for a ride.

Long Island archery club forming.

It would be neat, I bet a local archery would give us a discount too if we come in groups... Plus it would be fun to BS about hunting. We could always do a HuntingNY.com meetup at the indoor range over in Hicksville.. Its a nice place, only 20 yards and pretty cheap to shoot. -

I'd like to see a real picture rater then some chopped up photo to come to conclusions... When your posting stuff like this on the net, post the real deal, the full photo with timestamps and other example pics from the same cam..... Showing some thumbnail / cropped pic is not going to cut it for this crowd.

Just great, NY really? This should get interesting. I'm not a fan of the canned hunts, some of them really do need to go away. Some of them are just fine (the free roam 1000+ acres etc). Would I ever go to any of them to hunt? No way. But are ALL of them "bad", nope. YMMV, but that's me. The humane society is sounding more like peta everyday, or are they one and of the same?
