All Im asking is why stock a species that is not native to NY or North America for that matter? NYSDEC has a very stringent no invasive species policy. I dont see why they should stock Pheasant any more than wild pigs or snakehead fish should be stocked. So I guess I just dont get why NYS would bother with spending that much money on a product that has such a short shelf life and only purpouse is for instant gratification of a small portion of NY sportsman.

Well you just have to look at there base. They are bitter, mostly poor, and uneducated. I bowled a 280 something one time. On the Wii. ALLkidding aside I use to bowl on a league after work on friday mornings and I was terrible to. I think my highest was a 180 something. Prolly didnt help I usually bowled after 6 or 7 shots of vodka with a water chaser.

Why waste money on non native species? Why not spend it on native species like grouse who's numbers seem to be dwindleing and are capable of surviving without help in NY.

I dont see why a 410 slug would not do the job. Black powder smooth bores shooting patched lead balls and large caliber handguns have killed plenty of deer at 50 yrds. A modern 410 slug shot out of the correct gun at the same distance wouldnt be much different I would think. Shot placement, distance, and knowing the limitations of your gun are the key. With that said, I wouldnt carry one for hunting deer. I like to be over gunned at all times. It would be just my luck I would have a 410 and have a monster buck walk in and not get any closer than 70 yrds. I want a gun on me that can get the job done at any range that I could reasonably expect to encounter while deer hunting.

Its not stop selling to NY residents its stop selling to the NY police, sherrif's ect. This would include spare parts, bullets, ect. The cost to NY Gov for replacements would sky rocket making it even more costly to pass such restrictions and hit gun manufacturers in there pocket if they continue the hypocrisy of claiming to support the 2nd ammendment and gun owners rights while filling their pockets with money and arming Governments that will do anything to take that right away. I do not feel bad for Remington or Kimber or any other gun company in NY. They choose to stay here and I would suspect that the NY Gov gives them some sort of tax break for doing so. Though I cannot verify that for sure, but it seems to be the way of doing business in NY. Companies threaten to leave and NY is right there with bribe money to keep them here and pass the cost on to the NY tax payer. I for one will not buy a new gun from any of these companies untill they grow a pair. There are plenty of used ones in circulation. Unfortunately I will still have to buy ammo from them. And this isnt just for NY its any state that en acts these laws. California has a bunch of companies that wont sell to them also.

My question is why didnt they spend it on conservation? We knowingly and willingly gave them money so they could buy and up keep more stateland and such why didnt they spend it? They could have hired more dec officers, made upgrades to fishing access or something. I havent seen a thing except some more land being bought up in the ADK. Who gives a rip, no one lives in the ADK. and the majority of hunters dont go there to hunt. How bout buying more land in management areas who have very little to no state land?
