I almost stepped on a timber rattler one time in high wind while deer hunting. I was standing there and I barely heard the rattle. I looked down just as he struck and missed my boot by a few inches. I jumped back ( and shat my pants a little ) and he coiled back up. The 300 wm I had borrowed from a buddy to hunt with made him into a pink mist in a hurry.

Yeah Ive got some hairy stories that could fill a few pages about the southern creepy crawlers. It freaked me out at first when I was down there. But after about a yr I just got use to it and didnt think about it anymore. But man Ive had some skin crawlin situations.

Geez, hope you got some money to besides the time and machinery. Phades plan would cost you a small fortune.

Just talked to a guy last night that was a hard core bowhunter and bought a crossbow. Says he aint ever goin back to the compound. He filled all 5 of his tags this yr in NY with the crossbow and even a few in NJ on a friends apple farm. Says its more fun than pickin yer nose at a stop light.

Geez I really dont think I could hit a deer that big, I would be shaking way to much. I do know I would for sure shat myself if I did.

Alabama and Mississippi are great places to live if you can stand the heat. Northern Lousisana ( north of I-10 ) is pretty nice to, with tons of state land and deer. Pigs are a huge problem in most of these states and when hunting I would see up to 25 in a herd, and you can hunt them all yr long. Word to the wise try not to shoot a boar hog or you just wasted a bullet.

Ive seen several videos like this. One was of a guy doing the after shot video and he's sitting there holding his buck talking to the camera and another monster walks out of the woods behind him about 20 yrds and starts beating the crap out of a tree. He just looks over his shoulder and then back at the camera and hes like I really hope your getting this then go's on talking about the shot and so on with the deer raking the tree and grunting away right behind him. The craziest video ive seen is of a huge buck trying to breed a doe with a broken leg. The guys sitting there over his buck he had just shot doing the interview when this doe runs up behind him with a monster even bigger than what he just shot in tow. He tries to breed her right there but her back leg is broken and she kept toppling over. Well this buck just losses it and rams her right in the side with about a 20 ft good start with his antlers. Lifts the doe up and flings her. She comes down deader than a door nail with the guy standing there with his jaw on the ground. He grabs his gun to protect himself and they chase the buck off the doe. But she was dead as soon as he hit her. It was wild.

Im tellin ya, the sales of guns and ammo is going to save the economy.

Doesnt matter what weapon you use, getting the deer in front of you is the hard part.

I placed a sign about halfway down my driveway that says no tresspassing, violators will be shot survivors will be shot again. The other day my dogs went nuts and I looked out the window. There were 4 JW's standing in the driveway reading the sign. They turned around and left. I wish I knew it was that easy, I would have put the sign up earlier.

I thought all old people moved to Florida? They even grow small deer there so you can drag them out as you age.

Same here. Left back in 93 lived in Louisiana and then Alabama. Loved every moment of both states. 100% better hunting and fishing for sure and more stateland than you could hunt in a life time. But my family lived here and I started to miss everyone. Moved back in 99. Now everyone is leaving and going else where or has died so after my parents leave next yr for NC My family will probably pull up roots and leave to. My wife cant wait. She's from PA and hates every minute she has to live in NY. She says this is the most depressed state she has ever lived in and I have to agree. Doom County is a dump anymore. It has really gone down hill in the last 10 yrs since NY City kicked all its garbage out and most of them fled here.

7 Acres of corn seems a little excessive especially when you think about the nutritional value of it. 0%. You would do better with a mix of some kind of drought resistant clover mixed with, chicory or some kind of legume for a summer plot. You would get a better return for your money IMHO. Not saying to not plant some corn maybe a few acres but not the whole thing.

Found it. Here’s a pic the new world record whitetail. It was taken by the cousin of a co -worker’s sister’s, uncle’s, best friend’s, son-in-law’s cousin. Reportedly it will score 603 1/8 by B&C standard and was shot in MI. Supposedly, this deer had killed a bull, two landrovers ,six hunters, 4 grizzlys, 2 caribo, a jackalope and 2 schoolchildren in the last two weeks alone. They said he was in a fierce fight with Bigfoot, a chupacabra and a lockness monster when Gov Comuo and Obama shot him. There is now pending legislation in congress banning genetic manipulation, salt blocks and food plots bigger than 7 acres.

Bought 4 cases of hair spray and dumped a gallon of used car oil on the burn pile. Going to see if I can jump start some global warming today by lighting up the bur pile and sprayin all the hairspray outside.

Glad I just joined the YMCA and not the YWCA. I know half the guys at the Y are packin heat. I find it most interesting that half the list that they listed are socially conservative groups. And I find it funny the NAACP doesnt like guns when half there members are x gangbangers who have probably murdered atleast one person with a gun over drugs in there life time.
