This whole thread is starting to stink like the Under Armor fiasco in regard to what's an acceptable way to hunt from everyones personal standpoints.

If you don't approve of his technique, or aren't capable of doing the same, then don't attempt it.., don't watch it.., and don't promote it. Stick with what you're good with  and don't worry about how everyone else gets it done.

The whole 'hunters vs. hunters' thing has gotta be one of the biggest black eyes for the past time we could ever NOT want to see happen.

I bought an Under Armour shirt last week, AND I'm wearing Under Armour sneakers at this very moment!

That's awesome ! I've got a Parker in the safe It's a safe queen , dad used to hunt grouse with it. Dad used to say those paper shells would swell up at times. You had to find a nice long straight stick to ram rod it out of the bore to breech.

the one I got was a workhorse, it was actually originally my Great Grandfathers and has seen a lot of use......far from a safe queen.

I don't believe the Super X is older.  It's a white box which was Winchester Super X ammo.  The yellow box in the chart was Western Super X which was older ammo made prior to the switch in branding.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=winchester+30-40+super+x+box&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=654&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwio-aT125bPAhWMaT4KHWZgBwIQsAQIGw&dpr=1#imgrc=_

I'm thinking that box is just faded, could be wrong.......looked to me like the original yellow was still preserved under the price sticker.........maybe turkeyfeathers can post a photo of the front of the box because now I'm curious.

  4. not too sure I'd advocate the "tree hugging " method.....if the bottom decides to kick out on you, you may be taking a ride down the tree and leaving half your face on the tree on the way down. There's been more then one occasion where I almost lost the bottom section when it slipped off my feet, if I didn't have the bottom tied off to the top climber portion, I may have had a problem.

  5. this is why they need to put that "don't try this at home" disclaimer on certain videos, because people are stupid enough to think what they see is meant for everyone to do.......I once saw a video of a guy light himself on fire and they didn't put that disclaimer on the video first, so that afternoon I set myself on fire because I thought everyone should do that....stupid me.

  6. I haven't read all the responses, but I always set mine using my knee as reference, don't skimp and try to get space between them.....and always run them up past the stand, you want to step down onto it. I personally feel safer going up a tree with a climber so very rarely if ever use them anymore.......climber or climbing sticks for me these days..

  7. I looked at it for what it was, impressed? not really, if he could make that same shot every time then that would be a different story, but we'll probably never know. The fact that not only would he risk a shot like that at an animal, but literally risk his own life running on that rocky slope with a nocked arrow really has me scratching my head.....but then I think back to some of the pioneers of bowhunting, and if you ever watched some of the early footage of the shots and distances involved you would be shocked as well.

Me too. Buddy left a glass tumbler of Koolaid on my p/u bumper at his house. I drove home -through subdivision, onramp, highway 10mi, curvy offramp, hill, three turns, home. Koolaid still on bumper.

the craziest thing about that is someone drinking Koolaid.........I haven't seen anyone drink that in about 30 years.
