    Beware

you can see how the "putty" or whatever they used is smeared up from the skull to the antler base.....and I actually gave them a tug and the fell off............you wanna see pictures of that mess?
  2. jjb4900

    Beware

but could you imagine paying a taxidermist for that kind of work?
  3. jjb4900

    Beware

big cracks, missing teeth, poorly patched up antlers put back onto the skull......a total disaster and I was pretty shocked that he found no problem giving it back to a customer...........

    Beware

you tell me...that's the way I got it back, the "kids" overboiled it according to him.

    Beware

just a heads up for you guys who live on Long Island and consider using the slob Danny who owns Fish and Wildlife Unlimited Taxidermy in Oakdale, NY...this clown royally f'd up a simple European mount for me and was quite the unprofessional jackass about it..... here are some photos of the piece of crap he handed to me and and tried to pass off as a "work of art"............but it's ok, because as he told me, he can't do all the work himself, so he hires kids to help him out so it's their fault.........an absolute embarressment to taxidermists and an absolute pig
  6. yep, what State, that unless you have private land and the time to hunt trophy deer, generates new or keeps older hunters? I know a handful of older guys who retired and moved out of state, but always came back for a week or two for deer hunting, who stopped doing so after antler restrictions and the impossible chance of drawing a doe tag as a non resident........
  7. right or wrong, it's not just the deer farmers who are targeted when a disease breaks out and the owners of them get targeted....and I'm willing to bet that that the chicken farmers who I posted about earlier lost a lot more in the time it took me to post this then most deer farmers.....well, I doubt that anyone lost anything because the State or Federal Government paid them for their losses.
  8. me too, my wife could care less what I bought..it's me that has a tough time justifying buying a gun or anything else I really don't need.
  9. how about "shove your trophy up your ass, I'll hunt for the reasons I hunt and you hunt for the reasons you hunt"?
  10. the last time I bought myself a new gun, it was right around Christmas time, so I wrapped it up as a gift from her and the kids to me and put it under the tree...........do I have to tell you who was more surprised? and it was worth a good laugh as well.
  11. a 7 million $$ drop in license sales is a huge amount of hunters / fishermen not buying licenses.........especially if it's a figure from just last year.
  12. http://inewsnetwork.org/2015/05/07/millions-of-chickens-euthanized-as-active-outbreak-of-avian-flu-spreads/ guess it could happen to anyone who raises any type of "livestock".......
  13. how do you distinguish between the crack selling, public assistance grabbing drug dealers and the people who just like that style????????

  15. yeah, like it or hate it, you would think that at the very least there would be more who would show a little bit of pride in what a team that represents their country in such a widely covered / watched event has accomplished.............I think it's great.
  16. I usually carry the majority of the time no matter where I am or what I'm doing, and for no particular reason or fear other than it's a survival tool, much like a bottle of water or source of fire...........and pretty much just because I can.
  17. looks like he's ready to charge........
  18. I don't think we need the statistical breakdown...the bottom line is that that the wants of NY hunters is so varied that DEC can't come to a decision as what to do to make everyone happy.
  19. I've always wanted to take up golf.....if it comes to that, that's exactly what I'll be doing with my free time.
  20. my point was only about how past practice opens an employer up to potential problems should they ever decide to change it........
  21. I heard a rumor he's moving to PA to cash in on the Fracking business.........
  22. I just got around to reading the latest NY Outdoor News, it seems that they have come to the conclusion that there is "No regulatory solution that is going to make all hunters happy"................holy crap, how much time, effort and money was dumped into figuring that out?
