  1. Less than a year, weighing 50-80lbs. the ones you can throw over your shoulder. usually the ones who are willing to look right at you in the stand and not spook off. its easy to identify the young dumb ones...
  2. Hey guys, does anyone have any experience with the Primos double bull or a blind similar in style? i am thinking of using a blind for bow-hunting next season...
  3. Does anybody think the current cold temps will cause bucks to shed their horns earlier than usual? i have found one shed so far and it doesn't look like it came off nicely...
  4. did you notice any issues with deer noticing the camera? i have seen deer not just bucks react weird or look cautious at the camera while it is in video mode, im not sure if it makes a sound when it detects motion...the videos are great though, i also run bushnell cameras!
  5. The DEC can implement whatever rules they want, guys will shoot as many deer whether it be bucks or doe as they want. Just like guys using the crossbow before November 1st. I think an antler restriction would dampen waves among the hunting community than a OBR...

Willing to ship within reason. PM me for more info!
  7. during gun season it is hard to get deer coming into a food plot during daylight hours, don't think that because of what you planted is the reason for a lack of activity just remember how pressured they are at this point. but brassicas and turnips are a great late season attractant and are easy to grow, usually start planting late July into August.
  8. good to hear, already have my new rifle picked out!
  9. yes i did that was my 2nd choice but i hate to give up the rest of the hide, the coloring is pretty unique at least in my opinion.
  10. Decided to do a rug with the mouth open like snarling face, unfortunately still living at home means limited space.
  11. Here is my first coyote, taken this morning around 9:00am while deer hunting, its a big male and i guarantee he is pushing 50lbs! awesome experience that i will never forget! this is about the next best for me besides being able to take another trophy buck this year!
  12. Saw one small button buck or doe, run/hop through a field this afternoon. the depth of the snow doesn't seem to be hindering them too much. Not many tracks were visible. it will be hard to hunt certain areas this weekend until this lake effect melts off.
  13. Hopefully you will still honor this submission, sorry for the delay.
  14. I know i dont have the proper photo yet with the contest information but i will do that ASAP. I was able to harvest this buck yesterday 11/9/14 around 930am, this buck was very visible early on my trail cameras and than disappeared as they usually do around mid-october and hasn't been seen until this past week/weekend chasing doe, which ended being his fatal flaw yesterday morning, he trailed a group of doe withing 30 yards. I unfortunately did not make the greatest shot, liver/gut area but thankfully the grim-reaper broad-heads did their job and we were able to find him about 200 yards from the original shot. He took us into a nasty swamp where we actually lost blood and were just doing a body search and ended up finding him. This is my 2nd buck/deer with the bow and the first with my new elite engery 32 purchased this year! although i wish i would have made a better shot, i am so proud of the fact i was able to harvest a buck i am very familiar with and taken from my home farm here in WNY. Still undecided whether or not i will get him mounted or just do a European display, let me know your thoughts guys and thank you!
  15. Does anyone have any information on rifles being allowed in Genesee county (8G) in 2015?
  16. i'm afraid i don't really follow you. i believe hunting alone would make the situation more hindered in this example. Not too mention a safety issue and the fact that many families spend quality time together hunting...
  17. Yeah i understand the idea of backing off the food source but the surrounding area is all CRP/ over grown hay fields that is the main reason why exiting is an issue, only a hedgerow separates the fields and plot.
  18. I have a stand over looking a clover and brassica plot, the problem with this stand is entering and exiting. Exiting in the afternoon is the biggest issue, typically there are still deer in the field when it is time to climb down. In the past we have had someone drive a fourwheeler into the area to scare the deer off instead of having the deer see and hear the guy exiting the stand. I was wondering if anyone used any other kind of methods for exiting? I was thinking of using a air horn, this way the deer would just be associated with the nose and not the hunter. but my concern is they will try to locate the nose which would be coming from the hunter in the tree-stand. Any thoughts guys? thanks!
