  1. I have had this traditional quiver since i was young when i used to shoot everyday weekend with the members of a local traditional archery club, but since than it has sat in my closet and hasn't seen daylight in years. I have decided to use it this year as my hunting quiver, it was handmade and the man who made it is no longer alive and i feel its a way to honor him and i think the quiver is great looking.... So my question to you guys is, since i use expandable broad heads and there is nothing inside the quiver to protect itself and my broad heads is there something i can put in the bottom of the quiver to make it usable? Plastic? Teflon? looking for any suggestions! thanks guys!
  2. ok so if you cant find a hot bird than there are none around. you should be fine lol thats alot of ground to cover. you could walk from 6am to 12 locating birds...Goodluck!
  3. don't call too much in the area if your just scouting the birds, they will wise up to the calling and not spotting a hen...could blow your opening weekend.
  4. i'd say overcalled...when there within a 100 yrds you should really cut your calling down to a minimum maybe just some purrs. Its hard because everyone wants them hammering in all the way to the decoys but if you answer to him too much hes gonna want that hen to come to him at some-point. And as previously stated he could of already been with hens.
  5. when do you plant the winter rye? pretty easy to grow?
  6. i've just read and heard about the 3 year rule with brasscias and wonder if my soil needs a year to rest and build up its levels again, i tried frost seeding clover and am yet to see any clover heads popping....
  7. this is an area where you don't want to skimp on, think about all the issues you could have including the safety factor. If you deal with a reputable bow tech and that's the price i would go with it, like previously stated a good set of strings and cables are $100.00 minimum. Winners choice are great strings!
  8. Anyone have any experience growing pumpkins? whats it take? Are pumpkins a viable food source for deer? I have had great success with brassicas in the past but had a bad year this past year and i think its time to try something new, so other than clover i was thinking of trying pumpkins just for something different than whats in the surrounding area.... Thanks for any input guys!
  9. i just know i cant wait to be out there. this weather reminds me of deer season! lol
  10. looks like the muddy outfitter is popular in that price range...
  11. good prices on these scopes and i wouldn't mind the silver matte on my CVA Accura. just skepticical while looking at them because i have never heard of the name before...But you say they are durable?
  12. crossbow users getting the last 14 days of the southern archery season is huge, many consider that prime time to be out there hunting......I remember how pissed many bowhunters were when they lost the last weekend to the Saturday opener of the regular season. Yeah your talking about the beginning and end of any sort of rut before the guns go off.........plus here comes the poaching!
  13. I don't need mobile...just comfortable and affordable
  14. Frost seeded my plot yesterday and now we got 3-5 inches of snow here in wny. How will that affect my seed?
  15. looking into cat quiver as we speak, i don't shoot with the quiver on and typically leave it inside my backpack rarely mounted on my bow. I have read that people have had durability issues with these quivers...have you experienced this? certain straps breaking/ bad stitches in material? also, does the mini cat quiver included with a shoulder strap or do you have the buy the harness separate? Thanks for all your info!
