Lots of scrapes for a couple of weeks....first rub yesterday and a dandy buck fight last night with 2 mature bucks....great evening on stand

Well then....now I understand SITS...my bad.....you've just fallen out of too many trees....that explains everything!.....

I find there are so many more things in life that could bug me...I can't get hung up on how someone expresses a Question as long as I can understand the meaning...I just answer and move on....But alas...perhaps that's because I lack the essential "nads" that get frosted....

No conspiracy thoughts here ..thank you ......but I see I'm not the only one tired of all the rain coupled with wind..but thunder storms please!!....any ways..... I use the first week to stand hop..there's so many and it gives me an idea of movement....went out at 8:45 to a ridge stand and kicked out ..don't know..could be one of these pictured...all I saw was the tip of one flag....just got in and I saw nothing but munks the rest of time....not sure which stand I'll hit next but so far I've had sightings every time out and a few in range ...just not size.....yes just the first week...but hoping all this breaks soon...Mr B just got a commercial dehydrator for Cabelas and is putting the pressure on for a doe for jerky...and a turkey now...and for what the ty cost him...I better make them big deer and turkey...lol...his toy my work....hhmmmm

This stinking weather...thunder storm when I woke this morning...... high winds all day...... then house rattling winds and rain this afternoon/evening and right now a doosy thunderstorm....more of same tomorrow....this is the least amount of hunting time opening week I've ever had...and me with a new bow...doesn't that just figure!

Here what happened 2 days ago..mind you first week of bow....neighbor had the out of state guys from the hunting lease that borders both of us...getting permission to tract and retrieve a 4point buck....Thank you by the way...and owner says OK I have no problem with you 3 ..just your Cousin...I'm surprised you don't have a problem with him as well....Seeing he's telling everyone you wound more deer than he sees a year....lol...They reply..... well we aren't shooting EVERY thing like the guy behind you(leaving names out)...the owners reply's...why yes you do! aren't you going out to get a 4pt!! OMG these things makes me laugh and sad at the same time.....

Because our surrounding area is just packed with bow hunters I have to test the waters year to year...right now the grunt tube is an alarm to them as well as the bleat....rattling not to bad if I do it just right...but what has brought them to me so far...no shooters yet but we'll see...is my turkey calling...which is why when I buck decoy....I always use my bobbin head turkey with it...they come in much more relaxed...this year wind is killing me....can't even use decoys...they look like they're on a speed ball....lol

The alarm went off at 4:45 as usual.....looked out to see the west horizon lighting up like the 4th of July....went back to bed...rain and wind cold and nasty.....wind not right to even hunt out of the blinds...damn have to clean house now....

Went out this a.m. and hit a reliable stand ....at 7:30 a very young doe with pretty small single fawn walked in at 10yrds....she got a pass ....really looked like a 1 1/2 year old with fawn....then at 8am a nice big doe and twins came in half way between me and another stand they were 50yrds away ...she strolled off the property to next door swamp....looked up the lane way to see a huge deer head down coming out of the food plot 3 hundred yards away ....forgot field glasses so not sure on head gear...he headed for the swamp as well...should have gotten the fence up...I'll regret that...got home at 9am and started mowing....got most all the trails done and Dr'ed some others and took care of mowing leafs in yard and drive...had to beat the rain....good day or not....Hunting lease next door shot at least one 4pt..for they had to ask for retrieval permission from neighbor...and our son had a huge 8pt pop out infront of his truck a 1/2 mile from our place and run the middle up the road for 800ft in his high beams this morning...he said he saw 40 deer between his place and ours...bunch of them buck on his way to work.....

This wind is a killer...well NOT!...lol...... slept in this am and finished canning...waited until 4:30 pm to hit stand for the afternoon hunt and had 5 doe and fawn 50yrds away walk in ..directly down wind in heavy gusts...they just all stood there and after 35min...turned and walk back the way they came....about then a high racked 6or 8 started to run to my right going behind me about 70yards away ...I gave a grunt and he stopped dead...we both waited a minute or so and I grunted again...he turned and ran back to where the does headed....They are all spooked up between the wind and every body and their brother wondering the woods...so far I've learned 2 things...leave all and any scents home...over used in the woods already and don't bother grunting ...until they are way more hormonal impaired...that's been over done already..may try the small buck decoy and rattle... I haven't heard rattling yet

This afternoon I had a 6pt chasing 3 adult doe and fawn...all around the woods and back and forth into the plot...then it started pouring again left at 5pm

mid day...chasing 2 doe...on their new land...Congrats Pat!

What a beautiful morning...then the sun hit the horizon and all I heard was...Bang..bang..bang...bang...bang...and on and on until I wanted to hurl my self out of the stand...local gun club has doings today....and the wind is just right to make it sound like a surround sound system...and they are miles off...so I grabbed cam disc to check a different scrape...Are you guys seeing and hearing a larger than normal amount of chipmunks this year?

I don't know if it's dedication...obsession or fear...lol...been chased ...charged....followed and stalked going to stands pre-dawn...getting too old to out run and now with more bear in the area.... out bluff critters...besides God gave me the wink on a couple of close skunk encounters....But Oh ya I have a Tree lounge and yes..I strapped my self in good and tight(fear I'd "sleep walk") and slept in that. a couple of times...hung and then zip tied bow and gun to a screw in step....those were warm calm weather hunts...but skeeters and some wild screaming in the woods had me rethink that...you'd be surprised the noises out there...like my closed windows & latched doors....

I got to the stand at 11pm last night....had a field of deer and when I started climbing down to get my bow I heard a grunt and the field was lit up with wht flags and the buck had walked past me and just kept walking to where the deer ran....got to sleep and town fire alarm went off about 2a.m. waking me up...restless rest of night......playing re runs of the Wizard Of Oz in my head...lol and it got cold...at 7:35 I had 2 spikes in range 12-13in. and a 5-6in...they sparred and walked down wind at 15yrds...didn't want to go to field.......great being able to get up and stretch back legs and arms...read....and crocheted about 1:30 2 doe and a fawn hit opposite side of field to feed a bit....had fair morning but then down pours ...showers and nerve racking winds...gave up at 4p.m.can't track in this stuff if need be
