i have never shot a deer in my 3 seasons.. and i keep saying to myself "if a spike walks by im letting him go" now i would love to get my first deer and who knows what i would do when that time came but i really liked what screamon demon said though.. i would rather hunt quality over quantity.. for bucks at least... i would take a doe to fill the freezer as long as its not still a young doe

i am as well on my 3rd season, not consecutive though. but in those 3 years i have not shot anhything either.. i hunt public land. i have found the deer and a ton of signs, up until 7:08 this morning i never had a deer come within 100 yards of me while i was hunting. in the passed i have used fancy scents and calls, then someone on here aid they have no used scents or calls for years and every year they get deer.. tried it today and 3 does come within 40 yards of my stand.. unfortunetly i dont i have any dmps.. went right to town hall to get them and none for my region.. got a 3m and 3 s though.. not sure what good they will do but hoping to trade with someone... to finish off this biography, just scout the woods find the deer.. dont set up directly where they are/ go set up somewhere just off their trails about 20-30 yards.. ive come to realize that it isnt about just walking into the woods climbing a tree and deer flock to you

i have a 3s and 3m im looking for 3n... had 4 does walk right up to me today all within 40 yards and had no 3n tag.. please someone help me out

couldnt have said it better myself.. was in the stand when i wrote on here before so i didnt go into detailed response... but thats exactly how i feel in this situation. i havent harvested a deer in 3 years of hunting, and when i hear stories about these people shooting deer and either using someone elses tag or just not tagging it at all.. shooting 2 bucks in the same season all that really grinds my gears. i personally believe if you know of someone doing this and dont report it to dec that you are just as much in fault.. you are still knowledgeable of the illegal action so therefore you are an accessory to the crime. when i saw "you" i just mean all people involved not personally whoever is reading this

Its a shame people can't just follow the rules.. Because of people like that the Hunters who abide by the rules loose out. I wouldstill call Dec and have them watch this guy.. He's bound to do out again this season

Just had 4 deer come barreling at me from theto of the hill 3 confirmed dies and the forth idk about.. Heard no gun shots. The 3 does came first then the 4th 4th had its head down think it was a buck but they came in and left to fast to tell.. No doe tag. Hopefully out was a buck and he turns back around

I'm stand about 45 minutes now. Birds just waking up. Almost hit a doe with the car about 200 yards from where i park. To bad no doe tag because she's going rightnear my stand. Then at the base of the ladder had an owl or some large bird poop on me before i climbed up... Maybe get lucky from that see of the does boyfriend comes by

searched google pictures for bears on trail cam found this..http://www.flickr.com/photos/59898141@N06/7944270014/.. yes the legs are more visable in this but it strikes a resemblance. not saying what you have is 100 percent a bear but looks damn close to it

down a little ways in putnam.. im starting to see more and ore scrapes.. idk if thats because i was just over looking them or what. but the last week or so i seem to be seeing more and more

did the same thing.. hunted everyday this week saw nothing, weather has been perfect. took today off, going to go out tomorrow then tuesday its back to work

i was in lockwood this morning, idk if you know where that is.. its about 10 minutes from fahnstock down 311 toward carmel... from 6:10 6:15ish to about 7:30 sounded like a war zone.. after it calmed down around 8:15 i decided that a bow was not gunna do the trick there and made my way out before the next battle started lol.. im convinced they were just either shooting at the same deer that was just running in circles panicking or that they were just shooting off rounds for the hell of it, i only say this because i have not seen that many deer IN lockwood to begin with. btw sorry for the essay lol

so i went scouting at 2 different places in westchester today.. here are some pics of what i found.. the 2 pics of the rub are the same rub... rather large tree to.. about the width of my forearm.. also is it me or do the dropping look a little on the larger side as well?. you cant really tell but they are about the size gum drop candies.. alot bigger from what i have been seeing.. any thoughts?

6:46 was sunrise here.. started hearing shots at 6:15.. yes it was light enough to shoot but damn they cant wait 15-30 minutes

so i was in the woods this morning with my bow and decided to get out of 1944 europe before i got shot.. heard at least 15 shots before 6:45 and even more after... went to leave and saw another guy walking down the trail.. got to talking and the 2 guys shot at were him and his brother... told me the story. they werent even on the land they were still in turkey mountian just on the border tracking thier deer... after these 2 idiot landowners were arrested they came home and took the deer.. all that was there was a gut pile... not only are they carless and braindead shooting at people. they are thieves as well
