  2. Ants, You're okay as long as the fixed magazine hold less than 7 rounds.
  3. I should probably know this but ..... Does every state do a background check on firearm purchases? Just theoretical of course.
  4. I'm kicking myself for not picking up a new rifle , I've been dilly dallying for weeks. Know how it's feels to want something more when you know you can't have it?
  5. Belo.... I just looked it up again, shotguns are classified as a fixed magazine in excess of 7 rounds or able to receive a detachable magazine . I may have confused that in a separate post.
  6. Here is a link the NY State Troopes WebSite. It lists some but not all of the weapons on the ban list. Thes is also a link to the new Bill. http://www.troopers.ny.gov/Firearms/NYS_SAFE_Act/
  7. If memory serves, I think the detachable magazine was excluded from the shotgun criteria.
  8. Is it possible to register a weapon from an out of state purchase?
  9. Between resident and non residents its worth $32 million to the state. It would be struggle but I support you!
  10. Does anyone know how private sale will work... I know dealers can't sell them but can we buy them via private sales via FFL and then register it? Visa Versa if you want to sell one can it be an interstate sale?
  11. I think the 7 round capacity was a separate characteristic from the others... IE pistol grip etc. so it's not and.... If it holds 7 rounds. Double check that one.
  12. Apparently all....check out a post call "New Yorker Stripped of Rights, Freedom"
  13. NoahMstone, WesterNY..... Exactly my point. I read it this morning and I think we're all speculating interpretation. I didn't understand it all, example i didn't see anything regarding back ground checks for ammo puchases but apparently that was part of the bill. I really hope they hope they spell it out for us. Hopefully in a few days our FFL dealers will be able to she'd some light on it.
  14. "Scary Looking Guns" the ignorance of people is disgusting. WTF......
  15. That what I thought..... While watching the debate today, it seemed even the assemblymen didn't know. Everyone is speculating on interpretation. It will eventually have to spelled out in plane English
  16. This bill is so confusing I don't think anyone has a grasp of its total meaning. When does the state plan on filling us in, in plane English. Is it now in effect?
  17. The way I read the legislation it doesn't apply to pistols. But I'm not a lawyer either.
  18. Surprisingly..... the majority of the Assemblymen I've heard/watched do not support this Legislation.....
  19. I'm watching the Assembly Live ....... I can't believe we actually Elected these people.... and we pay them to boot. I was just watching a fella sitting behind an Assemblymen who had the floor biting his finger nails. Unreal....
