I asked a trooper friend Christmas Day about how the NYSAFE act was shaking out and he said its a disaster. I'm not waiting around but I don't expect anything to happen anytime soon.

I had a fair bow season, didn't kill anything but was able to see my shooter 6 pointer 3 consecutive weekends up till 2 week prior to gun opener. Just couldn't move into range. We took one big big doe opening day and have seen one doe since. I have plenty of does, 2 4 pointer, an enormous spike, and my shooter 6 pointer on trail cams consistently....... between the hours of 11pm and 3am. The rut was spars this year if there even was one. LOL

This season has sucked.... Just to sum it up.

I hunt 4A and found the first set of scrapes opening weekend. Took a nice doe opening day and have seen one deer since. I did find an enormous active rub this yesterday in the middle of 4 beds. All trail cam pictures are at night, but every one of them seems "Casual" as if nothing was going on.

Each township determines its own regulations regardless of DEC "Zones". I was told personally by DEC Clifton Park was shotgun will hunting of Usher's road a couple of years ago.

Same here in 4A, very little daylight sightings, No Scrapes what so ever, I have seen one shooter 6pt the last two Saturday mornings but no shots. He doesn't have a care in world just yet.....

I've seen a nice 6 three weeks in a row, but no shots. Still having trouble pattering him. Not finding any scrapes yet!

They are hitting them hard, huge areas of pawed earth everywhere. But no set pattern that I can tell.
