  1. I like them. My weatherby 7-08 is a youth frame and love it. Go with what fits!
  2. Northern zone and you need apark permit to hunt there.
  3. Whichever gives more hours in the woods. I've been splitting my time in the stand and light push/aggressive still hunting. Seeing does but no bucks.
  4. Could have fooled me.....
  5. There is public land behind Wilton Mall Parcel 45 and the Wilton Preserve off route 50. Check out the Interactive Mapper on the DEC site.
  6. There is no reason to bash anyone. If you think you're a perfect hunter great. But I promise you are wrong. Give the person a break. What a bunch of Sorry about the language but there seems to be way to many perfect hunters on here.l " Note from moderator: inappropriate language edited out.
  7. Well done both of you. It's been a very long time since I've seen a young man this proud of his dad. Well said young man two thumbs up.
  8. Well done. I carry a 41 may sometimes but have yet take anything with it.
  9. I actually dont know what do. Hang by the does, beds, fields. I'm all messed up this year.
  10. 7 does within feet of my stand at 7:48. Hang out for about 10 minutes walk back the direction they came. Half hour later a flags shows up where I last saw them. I can't pattern them this year. Number two Buck was killed opening day, number one is moving at night. Number two and a spike where chasing two weeks ago tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I missed it.
  11. You can use it for either sex in 3s, 1c, 4j, 8c and late season bow muzzle loader and and next season Norther zone September 27-30 if you bow hunt. See page 26 this Yeats booklet.
  12. I learned from my uncles, as my dad doesn't hunt. But brings back memories. Miss being that young and getting so excited. It was better than Christmas morning. My daughter lost interest in hunting around 12-13 years old. Shame though she was the best Turkey caller. Happy Thanksgiving everybody.
  13. Last Saturday (still bow) I a doe running.hard and cuts of hard to me right. Seconds later a spike oases where she turned takes a hard right on a trail 20 yards in front of me. Stops turned around comes back at me and runs within feet of me stand.... 30 seconds later a palmated 6 does the same thing. I draw on him but knee is shaking so bad it's hitting my Stanton and making clanking.g noise ... I tried to sit down but it didn't work out. Good day though.
  14. I once paid $275 deposit on 2 mounts. One of the deer was my best ever, cool non typical 9 pointer. The Guy had a fire and I lost both. I stalk him for a year to get my money back.... ended up giving up. Do what you think is right for you and your dad and good luck. PS two beautiful bucks.
  15. Mostly quiet in 4A... story to tell though. Shot a nice 6pt that had been very badly shot. A Guy on a ridge behind me shot him, broke his back near where it meets the pelvis. The damn deer was trying so hard the get up and run, but could only drag himself 10-15 yards then catch its breath and try again and again. Then he started bleating! I had enough and shot him. The other guy took the deer.
  16. Amen to that. God bless all of us. Be safe and good luck.
  17. I haven't seen a pheasant in the woods in 25 years. I can honestly say a would shoot it. Feel the way about grouse. Its been a long time seeing them.
  18. If your not doing a full body mount it doesn't matter. Gut it first so you don't spoil any meet.
  19. I got to tell ya, really look at the Mission bows by Mathews. I have the first generation Eliminator bow and love love love it. Pretty quiet, easily adjustable and all the bells and whistles. Pretty easy on the wallet too. Also check out huntersfriend.com good package deals on there. Have fun.
  20. Traditions LT, 245gr Aero Poerbellts, 150gr White Hots more accurate than a couple of my rifles.
  21. Sorry to hear about you lose. Hope you have a great season.
