Seems like quite a few accidents down near the city...coincidence? I think not

Ill be the first to say that I LOVE winter but this good weather has got my trigger finger itching! Got the new 2013 Mathews Creed and have loved every shot so far. The speed, quietness and smooth draw are amazing. Just ordered some new Bullhead Broadheads for turkey season and can't wait to draw some blood. Anyone else shootin a Creed? If so what you think so far?

What a shame! Its too bad that there are so many people out there that will take poor shots on deer and not think twice about it. Had a family friend a couple years back shoot a doe on his land that had her bottom jaw blown off. ONE shot, ONE kill...not just a sniper's code but a hunter's code as well

I live in Westmoreland and we had one killed this summer a mile from my house on the threwway. Another was seen a week later in Oriskany. Two or three years ago there was a sow with cubs in Rome not too far from my aunt's house. If this keeps up we may have a season around here before I kick the bucket!

These seem to be becoming more common in NY. I saw my first ever Piebald deer this year, (an eight point) near Hamilton New York on many occasions and have seen multiple deer online shot in new york this year. COOL stuff!

A lot of farmers are nervous about liability because they feel that if someone gets hurt or worse killed on their property they will get sued. This is not the case. I took this right from the DEC website. Q. Is posting required to protect landowners from liability? A. No. Whether the property is posted or not, the General Obligations Law protects landowners from liability for non-paying recreationalists on their property. Because of this protection, recreational liability lawsuits against rural landowners are uncommon. Recreational activities covered include: hunting; fishing; organized gleaning (picking); canoeing; boating; trapping; hiking; cross-country skiing; tobogganing; sledding; speleological (caving) activities; horseback riding; bicycle riding; hang gliding; motorized vehicle operation for recreation; snowmobiling; non-commercial wood cutting or gathering; and dog training. This protection does not apply in cases of willful or malicious failure to guard or warn against dangers. Too bad that many land owners don't see this or know the laws. Next time you ask permission bring this bit of information up. Might help you gain access!

Terrible shot. He is lucky that he got enough penetration to hit the neck. This is NOT a good shot in my book nor should it be in anyone's. Yes I can see its a dead deer and meat in the freezer, but I don't see how anyone could want to take a chance in wounding or losing a deer due to impatience. He may not have paid $100 bucks for a licence to watch them walk, but a good and a responsible hunter would walk out of the woods not thinking of the $100 bucks he spent, but about the nice buck he saw and the next hunt!
