Good year for apples?
bowaholic replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
All our trees around me are loaded and I can't wait to hunt the old orchards again after the last two years of no apples. -
thanks WNYBuckHunter

The one on the left (a lil dark because of the shadows) is on a Westmoreland farm and the one on the right is Brookfield.

HAHA I think this is true for all of us!

There isn't a season around my place unfortunately or I would!

Well I definitely know where all my turkeys are going....Three of my farms that I hunt that usually are loaded with turkeys have been almost completely wiped out the past two or three years. ALL THREE of these farms I have pictures of fishers and have seen them as well. I know that fishers do a number on turkeys by climbing in the trees at night and killing them but I never imagined that they could completely take out the flock...Makes me sick

my grandpa has a 155 7/8 typical 13 point and that thing is HUGE! Mass, Symmetry, Length...only lacks a little in the width. This buck is nowhere near the size of his!

oh yeah and Bass Pro coming to Utica!!!!! have to say im pumped about that, 20 minute drive rather than over an hour and the competition may bring down Gander Mountain's (10 minute drive) prices which are way overpriced.

I have an arrow saw and cut my own arrows, this way I know its done right and if not I can blame myself. Plus I can buy arrows cheaper on line and cut them to my length rather than buy them for extra at any bow shop.

That's pretty sweet! Better call American Pickers or any of the other "reality" shows haha

Little Johnny is outside of Sunday School on the curb, crushing ants under his thumb and saying "G@% Dam Ants" Father Lewis comes out and says to Johnny, "You know Johnny you shouldn't be killing gods creatures, they all serve a purpose on earth." Johnny, while crushing another ant says, "Thant aint true." Father Lewis tells Johnny, "All things that the good lord has created does serve a purpose, but if you can tell me three things that don't I will leave you be." Johnny thinks for a few seconds and says, "I got it, T1ts on a nun, B@lls on a priest and these G@% Dam Ants!" (CRUNCH)

look at the size of the buck pictured too and just imagine him moving in close, he would be the same height as the first picture.

but yes you are right about the DEC. A couple years back I heard one and saw its tracks at my aunts in Rome. I spend a day with the DEC and of course this was a topic touched on. When I asked about mountain lions the guy I was with said sarcastically oh noo we don't have any of those around here. Riiiiight....

wooly, if you look at the top left of the head you can see the outline of the other eye and that too is at an angle where it would be on the side.

I like the twin fawn shot!

Like Moosemaple said, I have only seen them right in town, never while hunting for deer or beer...opps I mean bear! haha. We use to have a camp back in on Stillwater when I was younger so I know how to get back in there still. Might need to go back in there closer to season and like deer hunting, put on some miles and scout them out.
-
definitely two deer pictures. you can tell by the bone structure around the eyes and like growalot said, predator eyes front prey eyes side.

If you take the bottom one or two off it takes literally two minutes if that to be in your stand. The Gorilla ones I use have straps that just go around the tree and hook back to the stick, cinch it tight and climb. They are good too if the tree has libs or isn't perfectly straight like a full stick needs.

AGREED! Thank you haha

It would be "proof" not "prove"....Doc was using proper grammar if that's what you were trying to imply.
