Four Season Whitetail's

Well they really didn't. They just left out the words-deer only- on the muzzy/bow permit.after keeping the words on the shotgun permit when most hunters would be there with a weapon to kill a bear. Well after almost 20 years of hunting there knowing that deer are the only game that can be taken in the fall I and 99.9% of all other hunters would not even guess that there would be a bear season. There are not many on the park to begin with. They just sure didn't go to any work to get the word out to hunters. Just if you had a cop friend I guess? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And if you read the post you will see that others were "Smart" enough to call the administration building(You know, Where the hunting permits and info is supposed to come from) and were told there was- Not a bear season and I don't see anything on the permit about it- But then again when you read the story you will see that the hunter had--Park Police Info--Guess all the public should be so lucky. No need. I know all I need to know about the park. Now maybe next year they may want the public to know about any new seasons that have never happened in the park. Squirrel, Yote. Who knows but my speciality is pulling big brown things off the park. Not Black. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I really don't care about your past. Your post was pointing fingers and everything I posted I backed up with pictures or pure facts. That my friend is something you have none of. The park did their best to hide this from the general public plain and simple. All the way from their website to the permits they issued. I don't think anyone is bashing the taking of the bear or the hunter. More so bashing the shady doings of the park to keep it on the down low. And just an FYI those on this site that hunt the park and are a tad discouraged at the whole idea of it did try to do there homework. As in calling and having a clerk that does the permits say it's not open that she knows of and there is nothing on the permits to say that bear can be takin. Can see the parks thinking as there are not many there to begin with but it sure could have been done better on their part. If only the one bear was takin then there is one on the bottom of trail 15 living and one up at the Helena overlook hanging out to grow for next year. If there is a next year. And now there will be bears shot on sight in any season because it was not worded at all. If they would have made it public that bear was open only during bow/muzzy there would not have been any doubts. Now they will try and shut it down all together and people will still be blasting them.

You can be sure he did not get 100 pounds of meat from any buck he shot this year. People are getting 40-45lbs out of a 100 pound deer and this joker says he gets 90lbs. Like he has put up a 200 plus pound buck on this site ever. Maybe he can put pics up of that buck/bucks?

Not really...Many come and go but all hunting info should come from the same place and permits do not come from park police

You just quoted me saying the guy did shoot it with the smoke pole? The only loophole was that they did their best to bury it and keep it unknown to most. Cant see many going there to really hunt bear anyways but more than one would have been takin if really made public i am sure. You can even go to newspaper prints of 2016 rules that say no rifles and no bears. 2017 they left out the no bears but sure didnt write in bears were open.lol

Thats just it..I did call and was told--Not that i know of and i see nothing on the permit that says bears can be taking, I see where it says-Deer only(no other game- Which this answer came from the girl doing the permits. The only wording different was on the bow/muzzy permit and it did not say deer only. The guy shot it with the smoke pole. My whole point is that they sure made it a point not to make hunters aware that bears could be takin. And again there is not many there so i see their idea.

Or changed the PDF after put on internet to add..No other game, This permit has looked the same for years and years and years. I know of 15 permits givin to hunters that i know and they all say the same thing. Thats my whole point----Shady at Best?

First you have to get 2 different permits to hunt the park, The shotgun permit always said...Deer only no other game. Which it did again this year. 2nd is the self serve archery/Muzzy that always said the same..Deer only....Which this year did say..Hunt big game, Which yes would include bear( If you read that into it after not being able to ever shoot bears in 20 years) Now they sure did not spell it out for hunters to know this, When i called and asked i was told that they did not believe it was legal to kill bears on the park and she saw nothing on the permits saying it was( Which meant it was not spelled out even to girls making the permits) Add that on top of a person going to the park website that says- No harvests of Black Bears allowed... So if you total all that up you would get that yes they did write the words-Big Game-on the bow/muzzy permit which was the only thing that Might show that bears are allowed but everything else points to the fact that bears are still not allowed to be killed. They kept it shady at the least to keep as many hunters as possible in the dark so not many would be killed. There are really not that many there to begin with so i do understand the thinking but they sure could have did something a little better for park hunters.

Most hunters live by the rule of..If its light enough for me to take a safe shot that will harvest that animal i am taking that shot. Many nights a guy could sit in a tree on snow covered ground for an hour after sunset but i am sure most dont but i do know that they will not climb down at 440 in the afternoon when it is still plenty light out. One can hear that about any night of the season.

I agree but my point and facts prove that most hunters start and stop when..They..think its time regardless of laws so the half before and after makes more sense

It does work fine for the most part. cant say i know or see many walking out of the woods even on state land when the clock says its sunset. Dark is Dark and most know when that is. Yes there are a few assclowns that push the limit but that will happen regardless of any law on the book.

Pretty shady crap on the Parks side. They write on the shotgun permit..Deer Only and then never write it out that Bear could be taken with Muzzy/Bow permit. They didnt want many taken so they kept it on the down low and if a person did not hear the rumor and call to ask they never would know. Problem is now with the mix up and confusion next year they will be shot on site with all weapons because people will seee/hear about this bear and think its blast away at will time.
