The Psychology Behind the Quest For Trophy Racks
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Doc's topic in Deer Hunting
People talk smack about high fence deer, Yes there have been some pretty freaky deer bred in the deer world but for the most part if you look at most of the awesome bucks harvested in Kansas, Ohio and such they are bucks pushing 200 inches, Same as MOST deer are behind fence.Hunters have seen what can be taken if they have what it takes and commit on taking only one type of animal. The problem we have in Ny is that we are in the crappiest place to live and hunt what a real whitetail can look like. The hunters that chose to hunt only mature deer are truly hunting, Find, track and kill a single animal...Like hunting for Bin Laden. Mono de Mono. Most places in todays hunting is pretty much shooting deer, we have a great number of animals and one does not have to "Hunt" to hard to kill any deer. -

There is no doubt that list is 100% spot on. For those of us that find, scout, hunt and kill mature bucks no this. Yes we all get lucky at times but to pick a target mature buck and then go kill that buck? Yeah i guess so. -

Dude,Your a joke..You talk a good talk and then show pics taken of just the mounted horns of a buck. If they meant squat they would not even have been saved. You say pics to your dad or whatever..So i take it he cares and likes to show others? Or no i guess they just get filed away in his app somewhere also? Not real sure i can read that last paragraph? -

Yeah and says he has nothing to prove or does not care about showing what he has shot..Blah,Blah,Blah.........But still takes the time to take pictures of the kill?? Did he not say in a post that i dont need mounts and i dont need pics to show any kill?? So why the pic at all if its all about the meat and nothing else matters? Kinda shows ya what merit that camp speaks from. -
This is just to save face. They dont want the eye's on many of the others who do the same exact things. The Outdoor Channel wants to continue getting rich also.

Loose lips will get you all kinds of problems in the hunting world. Just do your thing and stay under the radar. -
Many say it's all about the money for these Tv show guys but nobody ever finds it funny that the states and laws are always about giving a fine for a good chunk of cash? This world is ran by the all mighty dollar!

Lol. Funny you posted this. I have seen 4 dead yotes on the highway since Saturday. Strange to see that many dead on the road really. 1 here and there is the norm.

Which in turn puts you a step above other hunters because many can't get the job done with that style hunting. That's just the way it is. -

Sorry but it does not take much of a hunter to kill a stupid deer. We are separated as hunter by our own choices. Yes i choose to shoot only bucks that give me a challenge to kill. Dont believe that makes me better but in a group of few, I can kill dumb deer all day long in places i hunt. Not much 'Hunting" involved in that. Now go find and 'Hunt' a 3-4 year old buck on any kind of steady basis and you are Hunting. The rest is pretty much just shooting deer for many. Sorry but when bucks go on my wall they are there for my enjoyment and the only 'Others' as you say that marvel at them are people that may come into my home. And most times those people are the same kind of "Hunters" as i am and know what it takes to put them on that wall. Yeah there is "Better" is most aspects of life anymore. -

Some also do not have what it takes to go out and kill a mature buck on a regular basis so they belittle others that make it a habit. Some of us older hunters have killed 100's of deer so killing a deer is really not a big thing. There are plenty of does out there that need whacking so filling the freezer is not an issue either. I believe it takes a special gifted hunter who can go out and do his research and find a mature buck or two and then go take that animal on his turf. Not an easy task and many can't do it. As far as pics and such not everyone needs that either. My small group of guys that only shoot mature bucks have plenty covering their walls that were scored by legit scorers and put on the wall. A few cell pics on personal phones is about it. Every hunter has their own niche and hunts for their reasons but most must admit that it does not take a masters to go out and kill the dumbest deer in the woods (yearlings) or a few does. Now put all your eggs in only taking a mature buck or no buck at all and do it every couple of years or so and you are a hunter in a different league than many! -
Lol. Sorry but in this case, that's the case. Their choice I guess but I sure would not put them in with the shoot 3 bucks a year guys or the fill the while families tags up for them guys Funny most of the ones I know that do that are not the older fellas. They are happy with the one they shoot and tag.

Thats why many older guys up in age with their own property just grab and go. Right? Wrong? Who is to say that the guys that have been having a go at it for 20 plus years that they can no longer hunt because of a few suit wearing cats in Albany. They are not to worried about the peanuts of a fine that would be handed down, I'm Sure. Sucks that we all cant enjoy them !

lol for someone not attracted you sure like to stalk my comings and goings! And your right. I have been blessed with many things and many ventures all because of the Whitetail Deer! Again you last comment is an opinion that means very little in the big picture!

Same thing without the fence huh. Guide tells you to pull up your high powered rifle that will kill within a mile and drop that fair chase animal he just found for ya. Bottom line is that nothing is going to be a success without demand. For every nay sayer saying that's not for me there are 5 others doing it. Who do you think will hold all tha marbles when it's over. HF is a massive venture in about every state where in most states the demand out numbers the product! That's a good thing for some of us!

What makes ya think they are on the home farm? Hello. Owning 3 places gives me plenty of options! Now you really wish you were me huh! Give it up loser. You are getting nowhere! I have... You dont...Deal with it!
