Starting 2016 no minimum age. If your under 10 they can't be 20' away. But my son will be sitting with me the whole time.

Things I've read that's the rage for youth hunters.

I'm taking my son on black bear hunt in Maine next year. He's 8 do you think gun or cross bow? Im looking for calibers that I can get in youth model and won't have to much recoil but enough nock down power. I'm willing to put muzzle break on. Or do I just get a cross bow?

I'm looking to buy a muzzleloader pistol. What are the laws in NY about buying one and does it go on my license and can you buy them online?

I think the dec needs to change something. I know people don't want to hear it maybe less doe tags. I'd hate say it shorten the seasons a little. We need to get the numbers back up. I also think the dec needs to listen to the hunters to. Most of us have cameras out there so we can keep track of your deer number more then the dec.

The guy I talked to said he's hearing from a lot of people this is terrible season. Let's see what the dec say about this season.

I live in Sullivan county haven't heard much shots this year. I was talking to someone else they hunt in Orange County they haven't heard much shots to. Is this the way it's been in much of the state too?

That was the way it was where grew up in Orange County. You don't see many people do that anymore. Most of the people doing that are city guys. I had one tied on my Atv in the back of my truck cause I could fit everything in. I was coming down 17 I had lady trying to run me off the road. I decide not to do that again. I'm not going to get into accident or worse cause I hunt.

I know that's the way it was. I had few bucks hanging out of tailgate. I'm far from saying hide that we hunt. I'll never ever hide the fact I hunt. Things have change for us hunters. What does and doesn't help hunters is social media. Cause everyone has voice good or bad. I got bashed on Instagram from posting a pic of me in treestand. From people I didn't even know.

I'm 39 been around hunting all my life and love it so much. But as rifle season opens. Question why do some hunters not respect their harvest. Saw a guys car covered from roof to front bumper with blood not just not a little either. Another was I saw some guys dragging 3 deer down railroad bed behind their suv. To me this isn't respecting your harvest. More and more people that want to take hunting away from us. Doing stuff like this doesn't help. Maybe I was taught a little different then most. Sorry for the rant.

When I was younger hunting with my father. I deer come under my tree stand and die. The look on my fathers face when I was dragging a deer up the hill when he didn't hear a shot. Was priceless -
