Culver...The subject is currently being addressed by increasing the daily creel limit to 5 lakers per day... I read this on another forum..As I understand it, it is NOT in effect yet, but will be soon.. Personally, I'm not sure how much that will help.. Many fishermen , myself included, don't keep limits of lake trout...In my opinion they don't freeze well, so I tend to keep a fish or two to eat fresh and release the rest. While I realize that keeping more fish would be good for the resource, I can't bring myself to kill fish if they are going to waste..

The name of the stream is Cold Brook, and the rainbow and brown trout runs have not been very good there the last few years.. As oldkevin's picture would indicate, the lake trout fishery is thriving albeit most of the fish are on the small side.. The current opinion is that the lakers are overpopulated and are eating themselves out of house and home, and eating up most of the immature rainbows and browns..

My experience with the elastic holders over the stock has been the same as Eddie's..I lost ammo. I suspect that someone who hunts mostly from a blind might not be as likely to have problems, but if you run and gun for turkeys or wiggle through the cover stillhunting or driving deer, you chances of losing ammo from such a holder increase. I also use the folding cordura holders, either on my belt or in my pack. I have two, one for standard calibers and one for magnum calibers. Shotshells, I just dump in my pocket...

Paula...A flatlander is a person who does NOT have one leg two inches shorter than the other... They come from strange, exotic places like Philadelphia and New Jersey... Many of them look like the cast of "The Sopranos"... They talk funny..They say things like " Youse Guys" and " Giddoudaheah".

I grew up with my family owning a significant amount of land..( approx 200 acres).. I married into a family with a significant amount of land ( approx 1000 acres)... I am currently living with a person with a significant amount of land (100 acres).. All this time the properties were surrounded by neighbors with significant amounts of land.. Never had any issues until tight assed flatlanders started buying up properties.. Now you can't track a wounded deer across a property boundary without a problem... Sad situation, but that's just the way it is..I'm glad I'm getting old and won't have to put up with such BS much longer..

According to info I just read on the net, litters can vary from 1 to 6 cubs, and 1-3 is common. I'm no authority on bears, but I have seen triplets several times and have friends who have seen four. This brings up the question, how many nipples does a female black bear have...?... According to the info I found, they have 6 nipples.

A homemade frog gig...COOL !... As far as shooting them, I learned years ago when I was a mere wisp of a lad that the most effective shot placement is right in the middle of the back...Stops 'em in thier tracks every time, better than head shots..Of course, sometimes it is difficult to get the right angle to make that shot.. I like to cook them without a whole lot of extra seasoning, so as not to camoflage the delectable flavor...I simply dust them in four, season lightly with salt & pepper, and sautee' them in butter until they are golden brown..So good it makes you want to SLAP yo MOMMA..!...
