  1. Sounds to me like he bought stuff from Cabelas. They don't send you free crap! I'm still laughing at the fact that you think those arrows are perfect for that bow! You're probably one of those guys who thinks if you can hit a paper plate then you're good to go!LOL!
  2. I'm not the one getting upset. You're the one getting all defensive. Probably because you don't want him to know you sold him a bow that's all out of whack. I'm just trying to help him and I'm not the only one to suggest that he needs new arrows.
  3. Did he not just post that his new stuff came from Cabelas today or did I imagine that? Why are you getting all hostile? According to the chart he's underspined, but that's probably only the beginning of his problems with the setup.
  4. I'm starting to think its a lost cause. Myself and others here have tried to convince him to get the proper arrows and have the bow tuned by a professional and he just kept claiming poverty. Now he posts pics of the new sight he bought . Don't ask for help if you're not willing to listen. I'll bet either (a) that bows way out of tune, ( those arrows are not properly spined for his setup or © he's the worst shot in the history of man. My moneys and a&b!
  5. As far as base layers go, I use the Cabelas and Scent lok stuff
  6. I have Scent Lok. Back when I bought it I thought it was better than Scent Blocker. It uses carbon from coconut shells which I've read was better than what Scent Blocker uses. Now Scent Blocker has the new Cold Fusion stuff which may be better than the Scent Lok. I don't think you could go wron with either so just buy what fits/fells and looks best.
  7. Not trying to argue at all. Just pointing out the fact that the Easton arrow chart does not have those arrows listed as a suitable choice for that setup. Z Cams are hard cams no matter how you want to look at it. Having the proper setup is a big piece of the puzzle. I sure would hate to see the kid go out and wound deer because he cant hit the broadside of a barn.
  8. Those arrows both have the same tolerances. All Maxima® RED™ 6- and 12-pack sets are sorted and matched by weight and spine for best-in-class consistency. Spine selection sorting tolerance is +/- 0.0025". Weight sorting tolerance is +/- 1.0 grains. all Mayhem® Hunter series 6- and 12-pack sets are sorted and matched by weight for best-in-class consistency. Weight sorting tolerance is +/- 1.0 grains. Spine selection sorting tolerance is +/- 0.0025".
  9. Now try selecting single cam/hard cam which the bow actually is. A medium cam is more of a round cam, not oval. That bow has Z Cams on it which are hardly a medium cam. 99% of cams are hard cams unless they are almost round.
  10. Those are the specs I put in. I guess you know more than the company that makes the arrows! Indians killed deer with wooden arrows, don't mean a lot. I'm just stating a fact that those arrows are not properly spined for that setup.
  11. At least you'll be able to read the numbers on them from more than 2 feet away
  12. I guess the Easton shaft selector must be wrong! I still tend to believe it over you, no offense
  13. The owner of the company has a thread started on Archertalk and he answers all questions. Seems to be pretty good so far. Heres the link http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2029131&highlight=deer+crossing
  14. I'd like to know where you got them. The CX Crush arrows at Bass Pro are 54.99 for 6 of them. The Deer Crossing arrows are 49.99 for a dozen fletched!
  15. If you can tell the difference then you are a helluva shot! The average Joe cant tell the difference between a .006 and a .003
  16. For starters, according to the Easton shaft selector chart those arrows are not matched for your setup. I have no idea why you would be shooting 5 inches high at 10 yards with your 20 pin though. My bow shoots about 2 inches high with my pin that's zeroed in at 25. I really think you're beating a dead horse trying to shoot that thing without somehow getting to a pro shop first. If you lived near me I would check it out for ya. I have my own shop in the basement.
  17. http://deercrossingarchery.com/products/hunter-1 My brother shoots these and says they are as good as any carbon arrow out there. He staffs for Bear Archery so he knows what he's talking about. I wish they came out sooner as I just bought a dozen Gold Tip Velocity arrows. Anyone looking for new arrows should check these out.
  18. That's a telephone pole! What kind of bow and poundage are you shootin?
  19. All I can say is WOW!!! All those trail and tracks going in and out and all through the swamps I've hunted by must have been my imagination! Theres no question that deer hang out in swamps. I've watched them walk out into the middle of them and bed down for hours on a dry spot not much bigger than the deer itself.
  20. I've been shooting in my basement for a few weeks now. I can get about 23 yards in my basement. If it ever cools off I'll head outside where I can shoot 100 yards if I want. I have a partially torn labrum in my shoulder so I need to keep shooting to keep my shoulder muscles from really feeling it. Also had to drop down to 62 pounds.
  21. It all depends on where you're sitting. If you're in a pine tree or some other tree with plenty of cove you can be good at 10 feet. If you're in a tree with no branches or cover out in the middle of the wide open hardwoods then you better go 20+ feet.
  22. Could be there are so many nuts that some are falling off early. That's whats happening to the apples in my yard. The trees are loaded and some fell off already.
  23. If they were gonna approach you if they see you committing a violation then what do they need to look at your back tag for to identify you? They just ask to see your license. It just makes no sense to me. It is a good idea to get extras for all your packs and coats. I'll have to remember that when I get my license this year and ask for 5 back tags! And judging from his comment that I highlighted, it looks obvious to me that back tags are more about writing tickets than anything.
  24. I think a lot of you guys are missing my original point. I have no problem wearing one, been doing so for 30 years, and I follow all the laws to the T and get checked on the public land I hunt regularly. I have yet (knock on wood) to be written a ticket for anything in my 30 years of hunting. My point of the thread is that I don't see a logical reason for them. If they are for identification purposes they should be on a lighter background with bigger numbers so you can read them from farther than 10 feet away. Brown background with black letters is not easy to read!
